Everything after EQ!!!! Seriously j/k but really I feel like my disappointment with mmo's have grown with age. I'm not sure if its because when they were first coming out, creators and developers were willing to be more daring and innovative versus trying to make games that are popular, easier but really lack that feeling of making you feel "vested" in the game.
A good game doesn't really make you jump into the whole "omg end game" grind and attempts to offer something more. I'd say EvE did quite a bit for me as well as FF11 but after that. It feels like a bad ex g/f experience right out of a scene from the Hangover....
Mortal Online. Sausage Lake anyone; for all those Alpha phase 1 testers.
PWI. I tried it. I uninstalled it.
I hate Neverwinter so much I won't let an advertisement come across my screen.
I despise WoW on principle alone since it killed advancement in the genre.
"In the immediate future, we have this one, and then weve got another one that is actually going to be so were going to have, what we want to do, is in January, what were targeting to do, this may or may not happen, so you cant hold me to it. But what were targeting to do, is have a fun anniversary to the Ilum shenanigans that happened. An alien race might invade, and they might crash into Ilum and there might be some new activities that happen on the planet." ~Gabe Amatangelo

I'm not a fan of the asian MMO genre - I played too many final fantasy playstation rpgs, and am just burned out that kind of grindy anime stuff. I don't need that kind of cute.
When I look for an MMO, I look for ones made more for the western market, hopefully with less kill x of y grinding and overly silly sexy female avatars. I kinda like things more mature and sedate, more DnD.
Since my tastes run to western MMOs, I stand by SWTOR being the most disappointing. To each his own, and so far I haven't been attracted to the typical asian mmos out there.

By far the worst game Ive ever played also, and the only one where I actually threw away the CD's. But its not an MMO so doesnt really belong, although I 100% agree.

It's the "Worst MMO you ever played?", not worst MMO of all time. The latter would be a fairly boring thread.
Then these people are a lot luckier with what they have played than I have been. These games look like the second coming of MMO Jesus compared to some of the crap out there.
All these posts and NO ONE has mentioned Earthrise yet? Really people? What a miserable mess that game was. What ads insult to injury was the fact that it had so much potential, all wasted.
Wanted to comment on people choosing extremely succesful, polished and popular MMORPGs but decided against it, its not worth the effort, and lets face it, no one will convince anyone of anything.

Err... MoO3 wasn't an MMO or we are not talking about the same MoO3.

I agree. You could be way worse off than WoW, TSW, Neverwinter or GW2. Way, way, way worse.

Some of the games that I installed then immediately uninstalled again after 10 minutes probably deserve a high-ranking spot too, but as I instantly erase them from my memory I can't tell.
Feel free to use my referral link for SW:TOR if you want to test out the game. You'll get some special unlocks!
now: GW2 (11 80s). Dark Souls 2. future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord. "Bro, do your even fractal?" Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
I think Fly For Fun (FlyFF) was the worst for me... think I played 2 - 3 minutes... just one of those games that I could not stand.
(The movement, controls, graphics... the troll filled chat and spam was what made my decision).
And more recently it was Aura Kingdom, not a bad game at all, think I am just done with the type of combat it uses... and the whole auto run to quests and mobs etc.
I had to laugh when I read DrunkWolf's reaction to Rift, I had the same reaction. Rift: an unapologetic WoW rip-off. Fastest uninstall ever (45 minutes if I remember correctly).
Second place goes to Age of Conan .. a total piece of .
I don't try a lot of stuff, so not saying it is the worst, but the one I disliked probably the quickest was Neverwinter, but the biggest disappointment for me was GW2. I was hopeful of getting a DAoC vibe, but I found it cluttered and I couldn't get into any of the classes I tried.
Star Wars: The Old Republic - I wanted to like it, I mean, it's Bioware and Star Wars, I kept playing, grinding through the dull quests and linear environments, but tedium steadily took over and.. then they turned my Smuggler into a treasure hunter and that was it, I could take no more.
Anyone who says WoW or SW:TOR is either a hipster or just hasn't played many MMOs. There are far worse games out there than either of them. Ones that come to mind for me are:
Asheron's Call 2 - The first one was great. What was Turbine thinking? I guess it should be no surprise what a joke of a compnay they are turned into.
Horizons - Absolutely horrible game. I remember the original design plans for this game sounded awesome, and the final product was absolutely nothing like it. I honestly can't believe this game still exists, although it appears it has changed developers about five times and now is actually called something different.
Vanguard - My very beefy computer at the time couldn't even run the Beta without lag.
GW2 might be one of the worst, if not the worst, I've played. To me, it's the posterchild for everything that's wrong with MMOs today. By design, the entire game is as dumbed-down as possible. Just couldn't stand it.

Uh, there's a difference between a bad game and a buggy game. My medium computer than the beta fine, and I played for months because it was actually a great game.
WoW was so horribly boring and poorly designed I was bored to tears in hours.

I think the general theme of this thread is a MMO you expected to be good, or at least decent and it fell well below expectations.
If you really thought Scarlet Blade was going to be even a decent game...
We all know sex sells but it doesnt actually lower IQ's.

awful games with a even worse graphics engine. Just wasn't my cup of tea.

What? You mean you didn't enjoy an anime-themed MMORPG targeted towards teenage girls?

Craft of Gods. Never made it out of beta. They absconded with the money.
