People like Amazon and Green Man are only offering a 3 day head start on their pre-orders. Is this simply a slip up between publisher and retailer or actually a different deal? I can't imagine Amazon et. al. being too pleased if they are not able to offer the same package as the publisher direct as it will certainly cut into their sales.

Possibly though I'd have thought unlikely.
What about the boxed editions too? If you want the funky statue it's probably a safer bet to go to a retailer that has infrastructure to get it into your hands promptly but with only a 3 day head start. I'm thinking that its possibly a mistake though of course could be quite mistaken.
Standard edition gets ONLY 3 days.
Collector edition Buyers get 5 days.
Ahh that makes sense. As retail is not listing collectors edition yet that would explain things.
Actually that does not appear to be the case (on the UK store at least). The Digital Standard Edition is offered with 5 days head start when bought direct.
THIS
If you buy from them direct you get 5 days. If you buy from another retailer you get 3 days
Cluck Cluck, Gibber Gibber, My Old Mans A Mushroom
Nop you get the 5 days with the Imperial edition 3 days with the standard edition. 12game.com it says so in the description.

Correct, I ordered my Imp edition from Gamestop and got 5 days. Would have ordered from ZOS direct but their store never seems to work properly for me, always get a 500 internal server error.
You can only buy the digital edition from them directly, the version of the CE that you order from them is a bit cheaper (£69 v £89) and you only get the digital items (mount, race, rings etc) not the book or figure etc
The OP is saying that you get 5 days no matter what edition you buy when ordering from ZoS direct, retailers it seems to be imp edition only
I purchased from a retailer and got 5 days.
