My favorite memory from the FF series was defeating the jumbo Cactuar in Final Fantasy 8 as the battle was difficult and felt like a big accomplishment. The Final Fantasy series has been an escape for me, now more than ever, as gaming as a twenty-something female is frowned upon. Playing back through the series lets me relive childhood a little where how old you were and what you should and shouldn't like weren't as frowned upon. I would love the opportunity to play XIV!
My favourite FF Moment was sitting down with my 2 best friends in front of the gamecube and start FF:Crystal Chronicles.
The opening theme gives me goosebumps everytime I hear it. If you have enough GBAs and the right people to play with...this is the greatest game ever made (imo).
My favorite final fantasy moment is when me and my buddy's went to comicon dressed as Cloud, Barrett and Vincent. Well after it was all said and done me (Barrett) and my buddy (Cloud) thought it would be funny to duel turn based. He hit me with hit cardboard buster sword and broke my collar bone. The reason it's my favorite story is because to repent for it he came over and played the final fantasy series with me everyday until I was out of the cast. It gave us a lot of bonding time, and now he is going to be the best man at my wedding. It was the vessel for a life long friendship.
Been playing FFXIV since Beta back in 2010. There way to many unique experience in FFXIV but i would have to say would be when my FC won turn 5. We been working hard every day trying to get done titan hard once we got to Coil it was very unique experience learning how the fights. Once we won turn 5 it was the greatest experience.
When I logged in and was bombarded with "are you new? do you need help ? " type tells. It's been forever since I have seen a community that actually helps and is friendly , i love it lol
The Adel fight in FF: VIII. I must have spent a few weeks on this fight. I just couldn't get it right. But the satisfaction of finally getting her down must make this my favorite moment!
My favorite experience was being able to close myself off into my room, sit down with some candy and soda, and just play for hours on end of FFVIII. I loved how lost I could get into the world of not only 8, but all of the final fantasy games. Though, FFVIII was my absolute favorite. The characters, the unique elements of the game and the little side stories and games. I haven't had the chance to play the newly updated FFXIV, but I hope that it could give me the same feeling that all of the final fantasy games up to now have.
My most memorable experience with the Final Fantasy series would be when I realized that the first game I ever played was Final Fantasy VII.
When our family bought our first computer, a Windows 98 from Compaq, we also got a demo disc containing the demo for Final Fantasy VII. I was young, so I didn't remember the name of the game. However, the few things I do remember were passing a long and narrow bridge, entering a mining town, having one of the characters insulted, and ending the demo once entering a large cable car. It was fun and I remember playing the demo multiple times, until the disc got damaged.
While I didn't think much about it then, I did long to play those few games again. When I was high school, due to pure chance, I found the game in a clearance section. It was obvious to find since a single PSone game does stand out at a time when all PSone games have been replaced with the PS2. Just looking at Cloud's Buster Sword made be recognize the game in an instant. It was nostalgic seeing Cloud again, replaying the same scene that I remembered playing years ago.
I would have to say that that was my most memorable, as well as the start of a hardcore fan, experience with Final Fantasy.
I think my favorite time in FFXIV was when i made my Linkshell back in 1.0 with the goal of being an LS dedicated to aiding the community. Since most of us where FFXI players we called outselves Vanadiel's Rejects. We remained friends through the downtime inbetween 1.0 and 2.0. Now we are on the Excalibur Server and are still driven to give people there titan wins for there relic, and helping people progress through content. Vanadiels Rejects forever! Im so glad i got to know this wonderful group of friends i game with right now. and if ANY of you viewers are on Excalibur and are stuck give us a shout, my name in game is Hyala Silverkin! I cannot wait to get to know you and help you achieve what you want!
My most memorable moment in FFXIV was when we beat Titan HM with only three people left alive and all had <10% health. It was quite the nail biter!! Yelling "GO GO GO GO!!" at the screen was epic!
My unique moment in FFXIV has to be when I completed the class storyline and got my own Magitek Armor mount. For me, being a huge fan of FFVI, it was probably the coolest reward I ever received from completing a quest.
I remember watching my friend play FF 1 way back on the NES and wondering what had him so enthralled. Just so happened, I got my Nintendo Power for the month soon after and ended up helping him finish the game. That was my first foray into digital RPGs and it started a chain reaction I've never seen the end of nor do I plan to.
FF3(SNES) was the next big one for me as when I got to play it I was on my first Christmas break home from the Airforce after Boot Camp and it really helped me relax and unwind and remember that there was still a "real" world out there beyond the military to enjoy.
After that, I played FF2 to catch up with the series while breaking up with my first real girlfriend in the service and it helped me get through that time as well.
FF7 on the Playstation was there for when I was home after my Airforce days had just finished and now I was stuck with the parents again wondering what to do with my life.
FF8 was there through my first divorce and kept me quite sane and really spoke to me about romance and how it wasn't dead no matter what my circumstance.
FF9-FFXIII was there as I reconnected with old friends, got remarried, had 2 boys, moved down to Virginia and loving it here. FFXI was the BIG one for those years and will always be my first "true" MMORPG that made me fall in love with the genre.
And now here we are in 2014, with FFXIV Online making it's second coming and doing well as well as some remasters of FFX to look forward to and FFXIII-2 to take me through the next years of my life with my boys now playing with me and beside me.
I hope that they too find the same enjoyment and escape that I found in those rough and good times in my life all thanks to the Final Fantasy series. Here's to Square and it's Flagship, may it sail forever and never truly be Final.
Gotta say my most memorable moment, which doubles as quite possibly my favorite would be the first time I booted up and played through the first few hours of FF7 as a kid. It was my 2nd rpg and while I'll always love that one more (Wild Arms), FF7 caught me in the same way Wild Arms did...with the music.
I remember enjoying the start of the game, but when I got the first boss fight and heard that awesome track, I was hooked. That music, to this day, gets my blood boiling and ready to throw down. It's no coincidence that both of my favorite RPGs won me over with their soundtrack and FF has, to this day, managed to keep putting out great music.
it became an unspoken tradition, after beating FFVI at a friend's house, that whenever my game was in the final moments I had to go over to his house to beat it. Kept this up until FFXII while we were both in different colleges.
Those accidental instances that become tradition. I can still recall the early phone calls on a weekend or during the summer days:
I still remember the first Final Fantasy. My friends, older brother, and I used to play it all together. How we managed to do that on a single player game as kids still baffles me.
We each named one of the four heroes after ourselves. So it was Sael, Dave, and Ryu(he was named Dave too so we had to get clever) who saved the world, and myself, Bri the black mage(it only allowed 4 characters back then so "Brian" was out), who tagged along.
We each told the one with the controller what we wanted our character to do during a fight, and so managed to play through that game together. They took turns controlling and I watched because I was 6 years old.
Some people have told me that video games are a waste of life, but I will always remember those times and know better.
My favorite moment on final fantasy , was also my first epic moment in a game , back in FF 1, back when i was a little child, it was the moment when you have killed Garland and you get rewarded with the construction of a bridge , then you cross it and the FF Song starts to play., credits starts to roll... It may sound so ... small, compared to other moments posted here , but was this moment that me made into RPG's and made me want a sequel, besides, Final Fantasy 1 Teached me english ( im from Brazil, bad at english )

My favorite moment is when i booted up ff7 and found out that my safe game was corrupt. I had the change to play trough the entire game again
