Tell me about crafting

I'm sucker for crafting in mmos. Tell me about it in this game, is it worth it 200$ in first year?

Anyone else has an opinion? It's not like this game is for free so I can just try it. Dishing out that much money on something I have not seen is a risk so I appreciate your feedback.

I have played many MMOs in the past 8 years and this seems so far the most in depth crafting in a game that i have ever played.  No i didnt play SWG which was suppose to be great crafting, but have played most of the AAA MMOs in the last lets say 8 years in this is by far the most in depth i have seen so far.  But that is just from the games i have personally played.  But cant say more because of NDA.

I'm not looking for details, a simple "good" or "bad" or "awesome" is enough.

All AAA mmos have basic crafting only and cant be used to compare it to this one I'm afraid. Good crafting games are Wurm online, Xsyon (in a weird way), Istaria... I'm not much of a "go kill 10 random animals to gain exp" player, I actually despise that. I want to influence the world with my actions and killing an animal that spawns back 2 minutes later is not very influential. But making that special sword or armor that everyone will be aiming at it.

So... anyone did it in depth?
