Still need to test Archeage/Wildstar but have Repop as a KS I'm still open to other Mo's the guys at Above and Beyond are great bunch and the scale of what they planning is something that no sane person would attempt, but having got to know them over 2 years pretty damn sure they can give us the next great Sandbox Mo and continue to do so pretty sure they will throw everything but the kitchen sink into their baby over the next few years or more.
this, ESO is garbage which kills me. I would also sort of add reaper of souls.. I think ppl are counting it from what I read in the thread.. I just am not sure how excited I am about it.. TBH WOD is the same. I am excited for Wildstar though, I LOVE their humor and take on a game. I also love that the cartoon FITS! Where it does not fit what so ever with EQNext and I have always hated it for WoW. EQNext I have personal issues why I will never play it, I dont like art thieves.
Originally posted by Robokapp careful with the WoD accronym, because Blizzard has one too. I think because he mentioned Wildstar he actually was talking about the other WoD.
oh wow good point I didnt think about their being more than one WoD. I know I personally meant WoW's
Mostly TESO, followed by ArcheAge and very cautiously World of Darkness.
Normally WoD would've been first, but I'm very much starting to doubt if that game will ever see the light of day... and if it does, will it be some pale shadow of what it was originally going to be?
My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)
Definitely, The Repopulation. Basically because it's the only RPG-friendly MMORPG that's gonna be released: Virtual world concept, networks of interdependency among players, territorial control, player-driven economy and politics, meaningful crafting. Not only that, it's going to have casual friendly activities as well, which is great for those busy times where I don't have too much available time.
It looks like a worthy successor of SWG or UO, or a sort of EVE but with a flesh-avatar, which is exactly what I'm looking for. The Devs so far have been pretty transparent and communicative, hope they can make it work!
Besides that, I might try Wildstar. Yeah, it's the typical linear themepark but it seems to have introduced some nice features that make the world more challenging, alive and interesting: Housing, Challenging Raids, Warplots, Open World PvP + Battlegrounds, Interesting Crafting. Also, I like the tongue-in-cheek style and the irony of the narratives. Looks like it could be a good option to entertain myself every now and then - providing they don't dumb it down and turn it into another WoW/SWTOR hand-holding crap.
And finally, there is World of Darkness, currently in development - in fact they are still looking for Dev personnel, as their Linkedin site shows. I will follow this one because: 1) I used to PnP Vampire The Masquerade and loved it. 2) CCP is the only current MMORPG Dev Company that I respect: they have a modicum of integrity and balls, don't bend before the cries of the entitled masses and respect the intelligence and creativity of their playerbase.

Thanks for reminding me that one exists. Totally forgot about it.
I'm playing EQlandmark, waiting on ESO to play.
Looking forward to Gloria Victis, The repop, and EQnext
it was wild star for me until I tried it and didnt like it. I thought eso was crap til I tried it and now I am addicted lol..

Oh boy, that looks interesting. Another one to put under my radar!
Then, I wanted to ask: Why did Wildstar disappoint some of you? As I say, not big fan of the themepark style, but if I thought that if if you'd take it for what it is could be a nice entertainment for a while.

What's that? You say it's not an MMO? Well, what do you spend most of your time doing in the MMO's you've played? Either you run around solo, fetching 20 pig snouts for SIr Lazybum, or killing 9001 icky spiders for Miss Copperpurse, to level up your character... or you run instanced dungeons over and over and over again, usually with 4 or 5 other players, sometimes with as many as 40!
Doesn't sound very Massively Multiplayer to me.
The fact is, MMO's today are just like the old LAN games, except you get random people to play with you instead of your friends, and there's a global chat server that runs inside the game to make you think you're playing with hundreds or thousands of others.
All my opinions are just that..opinions. If you like my opinions..coolness.If you dont like my opinion....I really dont care. Playing: ESO, WOT, Smite, and Marvel Heroes

WoD I will look forward to when I see a trailer and a release date.
Until then it's a CCP pipe dream.
ESO has my attention. I can't actually say I am anticipating anything and would be quite content to play LotRO for the immediate future.
Nice one OP.

Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before.

Wildstar...no. I was surprised that was my final decision but no.

If i look at the numbers of most popular/ most visited MMOs on this website over the last months, the answer is...
1 ESO
2 Wildstar
3 EQN + EQN landmark.
All the other future releases dont even get close to these numbers...
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
It's called: hype.
ESO comes with it built in. Don't know about Wildstar. EQ franchise has it's booster club.
