Bazaar of the four winds truly stand out! Since I'm a die-hard fans of Jumping Puzzle, the vertical-aligned kind of map is both intriguing and challenging. It even took countless dying moment for only exploring the map~ Enough said...
The Queens Jubilee, and more precise the way Countess Anise made the goody-2-shoes Logan twitch by first having him fight a copy of Rytlock just for fun and then not telling him that she actually replaced the queen with a copy.
My favorite Guild Wars 2 living story moment was during the Clockwork Chaos, when Scarlet unleashed clockwork horrors upon Tyria! This event happened at the first anniversary of Guild Wars 2.
I am really enjoying the current Living World event, Escape from Lions Arch. Seeing Lions Arch under siege and all of the mini events that take place within the 45 or so minutes you are in the instance is just awesome.
Yesterday I logged on for the first time in over a year. I was expecting to spend a few hours just enjoying the graphics of the game and doing a few quests. Lo and behold, I stumbled upon the Escape from Lions Arch living story and was blown away at how much fun the event was.
There I am, my pack is full (I don't remember what any of my inventory items are for or why I had them in there because it had been so long since I last logged in lol) and I am killing at a furious pace and trying to loot at the same time and trying to figure out what skills do what hah! I had to clean out my old stuff to make room for all the awesome loot I was getting. Jumping from mini event to mini event within Lions Arch was just plain fun, exciting, and entertaining. Two hours literally flew by and I was able to enjoy the event twice. I am sitting here at work really excited once again about the game and seeing what else has been added since I last played. Truly epic!
My favorite moment has been the siege on Lions Arch. I've been with the franchise for a long time, so it's actually got a significant impact on me to see LA fall to an enemy. The sense of actually being able to lose something and be a part of the history of Tyria and it's lore is epic.
My favorite so far was the introduction and taking over of SouthSun. the one time event really felt epic (ignoring the technical issue), the battle with the ancient Karka was awesome. Also seeing map/voice chat fall silent the first time our whole server wiped was funny as well. That one time event I think represent the essence of a living world.
Cinematic at the Molten Facility when the two final bosses Molten Firestorm & Molten Berserker jumped out of the wall acrobatically, everyone on TS was blown away by them. We took them down without problems but that fight was better than any other dungeon encounter we've fought so far in Guild Wars 2
For me it has to be the Nightmares Within update. In my opinion, this was the update that Arena Net really hit their stride with the Living Story.
Not only were we treated to a fantastic cutscene, but the "Living" part of the Living Story really started to take shape at the top of the tower. No longer were we just passive observers watching the story unfold, we were right in there with Marjory, putting the pieces together to solve the riddles.
I see it as the turning point for the Living Story, which is why it is my pick for the best update.
The part where Scarlet is finally killed and we get room for an improved second personal story season that leads up to a proper expansion release. Other than that, I enjoyed most of the living story updates pre-Scarlet, even the flame and frost arc before it all got too silly, poorly explained, and childish.

Bazaar of the Four Winds by far the best update in any MMO I played.
Crystal collecting, Sanctum sprint, amazing back items that i still wear, the whole theme and feel of the update and GW lore, Glint need I say more?
Alas, alas, we've no more peace,
no ally form on high.
We'll make our way to brighter day
and into clearer skies.
No more to tame the wind and rain,
the skies to swallow whole.
She flies no more in glinting beam
and leaves a hollow hole.
Alas, her magic strewn in sand.
Alas, her soul undone.
The clouds shed tears upon the land
mourning of crystal sun.
No more to tame the wind and rain,
the skies to swallow whole.
She flies no more in glinting beam
and leaves a hollow hole.
Alas, alas, how time must pass.
Ancient, magical friend.
So terrible, so dreadful that
so treasured should so end.
No more to tame the wind and rain,
the skies to swallow whole.
She flies no more in glinting beam
and leaves a hollow hole.
Alas, alas, alas, alas...
Alas, and so we go...
We fly on high into the sky...
And cry, "Alas, alas, alas..."

For me the best moment in the game's living story so far is the scene in the bar with all the clue's to the events of the whole world .
It brings the whole game toghether and even includes parts like the reactor event (that i couldn't imagine had anything to do with scarlet).
Was a really great experience and would have loved it more if they had included a movie/ cutscene for each clue but it was still brilliant .
