I have only one bad thing to say,it was a waste of money because i don't use it at all.The positive or negative depending on how you look at it ,is it is a dust collector.
IMO ALL consoles are a waste of money, there is no longer a time you need to worry about your PC because i just bought a really cheap over the counter and it plays every game on the market well besides console exclusive but that works both ways.

Hm I don't think there is a negative to it. If you like your games on the computer then that would probably be the way to go. Personally I prefer to play on consoles, although if i play MMOs it is usually on the PC. There really does not seem to be a big deal of games on PC that I really want to play to be honest. Steam is cool but just does not do it for me. Just depends on what you like. I don't think getting both consoles would be a good idea (for now) since well they are comparatively the same in terms of games.
I'm getting the kids a PS4 for Christmas. They love JRPG's and manga and it looks like PS4 will be getting some love in this area next year.
Just a quick question: is it better to get the 500gb one and update the HD to 2TB or buy the 1TB version? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'm going to treat myself to The Last of Us. Heard it's great. I'm just worried due to being all fingers and thumbs when it comes down to playing with a game pad.
Got the Destiny bundle PS4 early October, and it's great. Got nothing bad to say about it, and yes they got some great games releasing in the next couple of months, including SW Battlefront in a few days.
I will say this about the Xbox. With the move to having the console run Windows 10. The PS4 will not be able to keep up to the number of games the XBox will run and thats also bringing value with games being sold cheaper as well. First move in a long time that makes me as a gamer go, hmmmmm.
I game on my PS4 more than my PC. I've stopped upgrading my PC as much as I was. As I've gotten older, the convenience that comes with standard hardware and the support developers/publishers are giving it in terms of updates and everything supersedes PC gaming. When I started out as gamer, I was a PC-first gamer and was up until recently. I loved the support developers/publishers gave PC games up until recently. Now the vast majority are console-first when it comes to development and support. PC gaming has become a secondary market since I remember the days when the best stuff was PC first with crappy console ports secondary. Not it's console first with crappy PC ports for many of those same developers.
I will admit that I have loved Playstation since the first one was released back in 1995 and have been loyal and maybe even been considered a fanboy but the PS4 is not that great. I recently bought an XBox One when Forza 6 was released so I could play a decent next gen racing game as DriveClub sucked and since then I have not touched my PS4. Now when buying a latest release I buy it for the XBox One as I actually think it is the better console. Why? It is quieter, the pad is sturdier and will not break after a year of playing shooter (R1 button is a known issue for being weak) and the more I play, I get rewarded through gamer rewards and now the XBox One is going backwards compatible I won't have to be ripped of by Sony trying to charge me £12.99 per month for PS NOW which is a joke. I know you don't have to buy it but when the XBox One has backward compatibility I know which one I will be playing and which console is actually catering for the gamer.
P.S I also get 1 year XBox Live Gold for Only £20 per year from CDkeys.com.
it has a built in 1 year disc failure right after you own it for one year (after the warrenty) the disc drive will spit your disc out. you have to unplug it and pray the problem goes away. <-- answer from a tech at sony. aware of the problem but won't do anything.
b.t.w. love Fallout 4 on ps4 lol . now i digital download only
It's a console. Your opinion of consoles will determine whether you think that's an insult or not.

Third again sure you want to take a microscope and look at the few games that may be "true hd" on ps4 and not on the xb1 you may see a difference. As for all the other games people play normally no you most can't see the difference from the distance most play console games at (almost 70% actually) I guess the Sony ponies truly are a special breed.
Again I think they are both quality consoles and calling the xb1 is complete ignorance.
NukeGamer, it's a shame you have such a chip on your shoulder and an obvious attitude because I agree with your post.

OP:
I prefer the PS4, but only because I have a Sony phone and have had every PS since release, but that's not to say the Xbox1 is bad, I think it comes down to personal factors rather than hardware.

I would see which is better in terms of price. Not sure how much a 1TB HD costs in comparison to just buying it in the PS4. Also grats on getting the kids and yourself something. I have yet to finish the last of us. Thankfully, I only played about an hour if that of it so I can start from the beginning whenever I have time. It is on my really big to do list. Honestly I have to get a new PS3 and play other JRPGs on that system as well as the PS4.
heres a little interesting tidbit of info to gobble up. All three consoles are sold at a loss. Nintendo,Microsoft, and Sony make money on the rights of video game publishers to play on their systems. pointless to this convo

Playing: Nothing
Played: EQ1, EQ2, VG:SoH, WoW, AoC, LoTRO, Aion, L2, DF, WAR.
Favourites: EQ1, VG:SoH, Original WoW.
Waiting: Pantheon: ROTF
I love my PS4 but i would buy a new PS4 for $500 if it had backwards compatibility.
Those are the two bad things i would love SONY change. If there is anything else that is bad is minor.
