Slow Paced MMO

schrollbachschrollbach Member UncommonPosts: 72

Hey guys,

It seems like now-a-days all the MMOs coming out are ACTION PACKED super fast paced, but all I want to do is chill in a mythical world and explore some sweeet places.

Are there any new games that have come out recently where I can just relax and enjoy the scenery? I would prefer the game to be populated and released within the last year or two.

I know I'm not asking for much so I'm hoping there should be several options. I always imagined MMORPGs to be about the adventure and not the combat or the race to level cap.

Eldevin Online if you grew up with runescape you will feel at home instantly give it to past the starter zone and see for yourself. Very slow paced professions are slow and leveling and a lot of quests to explore very good story that flows too. Let me know if you decide to check it out.

I have Final Fantasy 14 for the ps3 and it's not a game where you can rush forward. And it feels like a MMO in the way EQ did it when you first logged in once and stood at the gates of Felwithe. I dont know how big the world is but depending on class there are 3 cities to start in. A desert one, a forest one and a harbor one. I particular enjoyed the harbor one Limsa Lominsa:-)

Prepare to read alot and dont skip the text. You must imagine your own voices since theres not alot of voice act. There is multiclassing and when level up a second class you grind something called fates but you dont need to lvl second class to max so it wont take so long. When you got the appropiate claases lvl'eved up you unlock a job which is a final class.

If you dont like questing dont play FF14. It's more like WoW back in the day where you marked mobs in a dungeon, not like WoW is today whre you just berserk a whole dungeon in 5 minutes.

You will already feel this when you are going to kill your first mob. In WoW nowadays it takes 4 seconds to kill a mob, in FF14 it takes longer.

But there is one drawback.. Meaning that it is slow also means you will take longer to see new areas and be in the same spot for longer..

+1 for FFXIV. This game is slow paced (3 seconds global cooldown) but is high quality. The zones are beautifully designed too!

FFXIV sounds like a good choice indeed if you're into themepark MMOs. I also felt like smelling the roses was a good idea back when I played GW2, but for some reason I like FFXIV better.
