Best combo for Escape and Best for Survival?

ArchaegeoArchaegeo Member UncommonPosts: 233

For open world PvP, which class/race/weapon combo would give you the best chance to escape when desired?

And which combo would best let you stand and take an "alpha" strike from a NB out of stealth or other alphas?

C'mon, you can tell us! We are all mmorpg.com buddies and won't tell anyone. o.O

Edit - DKs ultimate (standard) has no equal - it its up, your target has no chance.

I hope you will survive the first ballance patch withouth crieing....because builds based on OP mechanics during beta are the first ones that get ballanced..

for escape IMO a nightblade that utilizes the shadow skill line and a bow.

not sure about survivability, if i had to guess i would say a templar that uses sword and shield with heavy armor that utilizes the restoring light skill line for heals.

and a bow as your secondary weapon for escape which would also help with survivability (piercing javelin would help for that too)

it would also be able to take a hit like the best of them being a tank.

also if you have rune focus on your bar that will also increase your armor and spell resists.

Orcs have a race skill that boosts running speed by 9% that could probably be handy in sticky situations.

I'm creating an Orc duel wielding berserker type where speed is key on the battlefield.

Good point, best for escape is Orc/Sorc or Orc/NB.

    NB use stealth pops.

Sorc has a lightning skill that really pumps speed like a maniac.

For pure speed "Path of Darkness" from the NB skills is faster than. "Boundless Storm" from Sorc.

    Storm = 30% more speed

Path of Darkness = 50% more speed.

Path of Darkness + Orc passives + Medium armor passives = The Flash

A Khajiit or Bosmer NB with medium armor for a double dose of + stealth from racials and armor, the + sprint speed from the armor and Dark Cloak from the Shadow line (invisibility + remove negative effect)

As for DK standard and other OP powers: they will get nerfed hard as "I win" builds sadly exist and DK corners the market on them.

About Path of Darkness, you can also use sprint when on the path which effectively burns both magicka and stamina so one must be careful using both but you end up running faster than mounts sprinting. It isn't really what the path is designed for as it sticks around long after you leave the target zone and you must cast it again if running in straight line. Love the dot with it as it is a combat power but you can't sprint through mobs or you will pull everything along the path lol. Fun power though. I agree an Orc would be damn fast. My character will be a Breton which will allow more casts of the ability but my sprint will suck.

I usually go for classes in games that require utility to survive instead of tank mitigation but sadly tons like easy mode so DK seems to be the faceroller this time around as ZOS currently allows them WAY too much DPS along with being a natural tank. Always the first mistake of nearly any mmo ... allowing high mitigation to be combined with self-healing and high burst/DPS. The nerfs will be strong with this one and the tears falling in torrents from the players thinking their 3 button faceroll builds will stick around long. Just the way it is in every single mmo launch. Balance is rough.

    You stay sassy!

Survival is a werewolf DK running Magma Armor with a sword and shield, although I have little doubt that's getting nerfed.

Escape is a Sorcerer with Ball of Lightning.  Which with a full magicka bar (about 18-1900 at level 50) can fire off 5-6 teleports in a row at ~ 18m each.   They can then channel Dark Exchange for about 3 seconds(converting stamina to mana)... and fire off 3 more teleports  Then do Dark Exchange again, and fire off another 3-4.  If they have Dark Conversion, they'll be able to do it a third time.

Which means that could probably create a gap of about  ~ 200-230+m in 10 -15  seconds.  Good luck catching that.

A rank 4 vampire of any  profession with elusive mist (60% cost discount, non CCable, 52% run speed bonus) comes in second.

Considering the DK's target doesn't know to stay away from the standard while it's up.
