Steam should be sued

Am I the only one that has been hoodwinked by steam in the last year or so......I have been a steam member for about 9-10 years I have 302 games and 300$ in game dev software.....Why do they scam people out of money.......

Here's the skinny...I bought TSW when it came out just the base copy nothing extra....Massive edition goes on sale last week (Massive edition is the base game+all current content) Now this is where it gets hairy since I bought just the base version and the massive edition is considered a different version of the game I never got the "A typical" warning about "You already own this game and will not receive a Key if you continue with your purchase" So I bought it and boom no key no warning nothing.

Steam after 3 days barely gets back to me and pretty much in no uncertain terms says tough S!@# for you. No refund No key nothing

Am I the only one this kinda stuff happens to, am I wrong for wanting what I paid for ? Why is a refund to much to ask on a game key I never got let alone used?

Is there no way I can hold steam responsible for this if there is any leads or info I would be grateful. This is not the 1st time steam has tried this on me or others I know, I want to stick it back to them it's getting pretty old having the Big Biz of this country taking advantage of people and getting away with it.

Are you serious? Big Biz? Steam is nowhere in the city, let alone the ballpark of the Big Biz if this country.

Something isn't adding up here. I bought BFBC2 Vietnam and didn't realize you needed the base game in Steam, so I asked for a refund and got it. No issue. And it could honestly be an error in their program. Steam checks for special things in your account to determine if you have a game. I've bought special editions of games and ended up in duplicate copies. I knew this ahead of time.

Your issue is a tad different, so send them another message and make it professional and watch a different outcome come out.

Guarantee you waived your right to a lawsuit in the EULA.

i have seen people complain about this before. i am not sure whether it is Steam or it's online CS reps that are the real issue.

i would try again under a new ticket, or attempt to have it escalated under the current submission.

as for a lawsuit there are some shadier elements to Valve/Steam that have never been fully exposed it seems, if these encounters are even mostly true it hints at a certain unresponsiveness at best.

also, another element most folks don't think about is that if Steam ever did suddenly go belly up, you would own nothing. the agreement you sign onto when you purchase a Steam game gives you no rights to access that game via any other means except Steam. as i recall it specifically restricts you from making any claims against them or the developer to receive another copy of the software.

however, signing a contract that restricts your actions is only viable if the other party (Steam) has lived up to all of their responsibilities. and even then there are exceptions where the contract is considered by the courts to have been invaild due to any number of 'unreasonable' actions or requests, ie., a contract that violates your rights as a consumer is not a valid contract, no matter how many lawyers approved it and how many times you've signed it.
