I played for about 25 minutes. Got to level 2, and that's plenty of playtime to tell you that the combat definitely feels very different when actually playing compared to watching the gameplay vids. I was turned off by the vids, but it actually isn't so bad. Though I do miss how in the single player games you could charge at the enemy while doing a power strike. Not a big deal though, IMO.

Neat. I'm still installing the game so I just used my roomates comp for a bit to get started on my character before sleep. I'll dabble a bit further tomorrow.

OH I remember you bcbully! Weren't you like the biggest AOW promoter here on mmorpg early last year? Ah good times, I wish snail wasn't such a bad company.. AOW seemed to have so much potential, but snail really spoiled the fun for me. I logged into chengdou one day and there was only 1 person at the player stall area when just a few weeks earlier I couldn't even set up a stall because it was always full!

Saying that means you didn't either liked the combat. Combat and skill animations in this game are of the lowest quality i ve ever seen in a mmo. At least the non much hyped or f2p ones.

Yep, I just dinged 20 early this morning. I feel like I'm starting to get in a good groove. Weapon swap at 15 adds like 50% of you character.

About Snail and AoW, me too :( Such a good game dragged down by f2p shenanigans. They gave me 15 months of uncut awesome though. Maybe World of Darkness will be a p2p AoW clone! I'll being saying that about new releases for the next few years I think ;)

You haven't played many MMOs if you think this game's animations are some of the lowest quality...

For a game with a high budget..... yeah.....

I haven't gotten any abilities yet. I'm just referencing the overall feel of slicing and dicing.

Try LOTRO and EQ2. Those games redefined the very meaning of horrible animations! LOTRO was ultra bland with 0 animations, EQ2 was extremely clunky and  laggy even if you have a 50 billion core CPU running at 200000000000 GHz frequency. Even if you could have 2-3 Geforce TItans in your PC, EQ 2 would still be clunky and unresponsive :)

Mission in life: Vanquish all MMORPG.com trolls - especially TESO, WOW and GW2 trolls.
