Title says the basics. I'm looking for suggestions on a fairly newer mmorpg that is a bit more old school style. I love co-op group play where grouping highly beneficial and pushed yet some level of difficulty. This means a game with a community where you can actually make regular friends to group with for dungeons or raids. A game with depth and where leveling actually takes a bit. I don't mind grinds and gear grinds at all as long as I know I'm not out leveling said gear the next day. A game a bit less kiddy but decent graphics. I always loved a solid community and guild which most if not all games today lack due to extreme ease and not needing things like friends to accomplish anything.
Games I loved, old school EQ1 and EQ2, DAoC first couple expacs. WoW classic was great while burning crusades not as much and wotlk+ just meh at best. I've been on and off with SW:TOR for awhile but the game is even worse now for me as even more now everyone just randoms groups and raids with random people, no real difficulty left, and gear is just to easy so everyone is near max w/o much work.
I tried FFXIV also on launch but didn't do well for me in part because I'm also an altaholic and it discourages alts severely with every character being able to be every role with a simple gear swap.
Also any suggestions on any potential upcoming games such as Wildstar or others fitting my bill?

When you say "a bit less kiddy" do you mean less pixie dust, unicorns, rainbows, or do you mean, a game with less 14 year olds playing?
Arch Age might have some of this. I've not looked too much into it but it sounds like it will put more focus on guilds and grouping than more recent MMOs.
As for leveling I have no clue really if it's a solo trip or grouping is required.
