An Objective review of the game.

Elder Scrolls Online is a quite interesting game when you look under the hood. I have had the opportunity to play this game sens January in beta and now and I have to say that the game is growing on me. My first impression was that this is just some watered down cookie cutter MMO with really boring combat. Sure the combat is not that challenging but at least it becomes "not bad" and depending on how you build your char interesting in some scenarios.

The quest stories and how the quests are designed and precented to you are intersting and feels a bit fresh. But I most point out that the quest story arks all varies from extreamly bad to quite good. With that I mean they have had some realy bad writers and some good writers. Personaly I like Daggerfalls quest the most with Dominion as a close second. However Ebonheart Pact story arcs have allot to decier from time to time.

Exploring the world is also really fun and rewarding in this game compared to the majority of any MMORPG that been released for the last 10 years. It really pays off to travell to remote places on the map.

PvP is also relativly good for being a MMORPG. Personally I think FPS games, espacilly MMOFPS games, are where the best PvP experience you can find is however. But the PvP in Cyrodiil will give you a bit of everything and have potetial for allot of different tactics to be exploited.

Now if I would compare this game to other MMORPGs I will have to admit that there are games that have done things better then what ZOS have done with this game. For an example: SWTOR have better story arc and story telling in there game, not saying that ESO is bad, just not as good. And if we where to compare the combat game mech. with the upcoming wildstar I have to say that wildstar combat is slightly better. And if we go down the list of different game mechanics I find that ESO comes in second or third place. But in the over all picture ESO is a good game as it does not have anything that is really bad.

If you are a fan of Elderscrols III, IV, V I really recomend this game. If you are a MMORPG fan I recomend this game too if you are looking for something new. Just don't think this is allot better then what you have already played during the last 10 years.

If I where to give an over all socre of this game it has to be 7/10

Nop, your 7/10 score isn't right for an AAA huge IP title. Like SWTOR it will be close to 9/10. Wait and see :)

I'm sorry but this is a very poorly written review , just sayin .

also I think maybe you should look up the meaning of objective , because as Yoda might say ... Objective review this is not. ;)

Agree with a lot of your post. Feel very much the same about it. It's ot one of those games that is the best of X or the best of Y that some other games are known for, such as best PvP games, best stories, etc. But it is a great mix of a variety of things that while it doesnt do any particularl thing the best, it does tend to a bit of everything better than most other games that tried to do  a bit of everything. I think that's part of the appeal of it. It isnt a game to play for JUST PvP because the PvE is errible, or JUST PvE because the PvP is terrible. You can have a pretty good time doing whatever you like.

First of you can't give a game a review based on future expansions because you think it will be good in the future. Thats just stupid. And do you really try to suggest that you cant give a triple A IP a score under 9/10?

Thanks for your feedback. English is not my native language and was just killing some time while the ESO servers are down for patching. So really did not try to show off my writing skills.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but there is no objectivity as long as the reviewer is writing from a persona, individual, human standpoint. This is always subjective. He can only write objective if he lets an outworldly being channel into his mind how it sees the game. And even then, does objectivity really exist? I know for sure only our creator can know this for certain.

i see a review.. i am just waiting of the objective part because that was anything but.

Agree with your score... It is a above average game with some neat features but it is not a full pot for me.

Still kind of  a waste to call your post a review... Especially a objective one.

Not exactly true. He could have gone through every system and feature, telling us how it work without giving us his opinion on it. That would have been objective. But as soon as the writer let even the slightest hint of a feel or think slip past it is ruined.

This have been a good conversation

Well maybe I should have said kudos for trying , :). but the main thing is that it is not  objective.

also your English is very good ;)

Your opinion is just as objective as the opinion of every other professional and amateur reviewer in the world.

You hit the nail on the head.   I feel that this game gives you quite a bit of freedom to do exactly that---whatever you like.  I quest, I craft, I farm, I explore, I read lorebooks, I find mage guild books, I fish,  etc.  There is a plethora of things to keep me happily occupied and that is probably why I'm only level 11 with my highest level character.  Yesterday my hubby and I just headed to a spot on our map, found a quest and happily crawled through a cave for several hours.  Then of course coming out of that cave with your backpack filled up gave me more time to deconstruct, craft, sell, etc.  While I was preparing dinner, I just ran around looking for chests to open and alchemy components to find.   I probably would move even slower if I actually read every lorebook out there-- I do try but there is sooo much to read.  So much lore and story that at times it becomes overwhelming and I love it.

I do hope that I continue to enjoy this sense of freedom and feeling of just being able to do whatever.   As you say, it does a bit of everything pretty well and that is what makes it quite enjoyable.  Some other games I've found do a couple of things really well and the rest is just blah.

I do wish that fishing was a bit more exciting and that you could improve in your fishing skill.  Hoping that they continue to grow this part of the game.   I loved my WoW and Rift  fishing and not knowing what you would fish up or what achievements you could earn.  Plus some fish made some awesome foods.   Oh and housing at some point!!

I'm pretty happy at this point with the game.  I haven't been this immersed in a game world for some time.  The environments are stunning and I've been so happy just running around.  Haven't even seen a fraction of the map.

My post was sarcastic about the reviews & scores the AAA mmo's have by gaming forums/sites experts and not about yours :)

Please come back and say this in 1-2 months from now. Well, assuming you still fell that way. I'v'e been burned on released MMOs 1 time too often so now I am forcing myself to wait on this game. But if this general sentiment still holds true in 30-60 days from now, Then I'm in.

So what you're saying is that the word shouldn't really exist and the only person in the whole world that realises this is... you?

I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.
