Well thats the 50 points just from your character levels remember quests give points sometimes and worldwide in game there is a total of 107 skill points from shards(311 shards I think) but takes 3 shards to make one point so yeah I think you can get another 107 points from skyshards so yeah way more then 50 points.
It depends on how you do a few quests. There is at least one quest where you can end up with one or two skill points depending on what you choose to do. From a person who had a high veteran rank toon on the PTS in my guild, she said there are between 302 to 304 skill points currently in the game depending on those quests. Craglorn will add more.
303 Skyshards = 101 Skill Points
49 level ups = 49 Skill points
49 Alliance Rank ups = 49 Skill spoints.
That's 199 skill points right there. The rest are from quests. Remember, you have 3 factions worth of quests. So you will only get 1/3 of those by the time you 50. You won't get the other 2/3 until you finished Veteran Rank 10.
If you get every skillpoint from every quest, achievement and skyshards and level you will have 320.

Yes. It's actually an AWESOME decision and it really speaks to what type of player you are. Even so I am level 43 and have 30 unused skillpoints because I'm not crafting.
Getting all those SPs really is only necessary is you want to do both crafting, and PvP/PvE on the same character.

No. If a quest gives a skillpoint, it gives it either way. These are normally the storyline and guild quests.
Yeah. The full total is something over 300, but that requires finding every skyshard, and completing every quest. Since many are not on the main questing path, and only found through exploring, some people will likely end up with much less than the max number of skill points. It also requires that you PvP. If you don't PvP you will get even fewer skill points. I'm guessing that a lot of people will end up with around 250-275 skill points.

You are still lower level I'm guessing. There's at least one choice between skill points and item I know of. Not telling what it is though.
There is one quest which appears to only give skill points if you select one of the options, I'm not actually aware of anyone who has picked the other option to confirm that though.
Also, Cyrodil has 15 skill points in it through 45 skyshards. So if you don't PvP, you aren't missing out on many there.
I really don't hope it is true that you can actually lose skill points... That means that you will never be as effective as a guy who has all skill points...

Yeah, it is pretty awesome that you actually get a nerfed char that is worth shit, because he is missing skillpoints and you can't do anything about it. Fucking shit game...

If this is really true I might not want to resub. I am not a fan of your character being worthless because of decissions i made in some quests.

It is 2 skill points, there isn't build in the game that uses 320 skill points, there isn't one that uses 200, so missing 2 isn't going to screw you over. But, based on the quest line you get it from, I suspect you can get it from VR content if you didn't get it from the normal content.
2 points can still matter depending on where you spend them. I might lose either 2 SP's in combat or in crafting.
I know that 2 out of so many SP doesn't count as much - but it is still a gimped char and is really an issue to me.
I agree, 2 points matters A Lot (especially early game). Now that I reached VR, I found that I just have too much free SP (around 26) awaiting to be spent. If you have already set of skills build in mind, 300-ish SP is more than enough to accomplish that.
And hey, you don't have to spend crafting skills on your main! I spent my sub sp for all crafting skills I needed so that my main could focus on the combat stuffs
Over 300 at release, and ever growing there after, as with all new content they add, there will come more skillpoints..( and more skills and skilltrees). Available...
completing all skillpoints will take a huge amount of effort, unseenin any leveling system till todate, skillpoints is bothe theleveling system as well as the AA and RealmPoint system
so far it works perfectly, because with every skillpoint i get, ineed to choose between several options...

It should be 300, I don't remember ZOS stating that it had change during release.
It's definitely not 50, I'm level 39 and I have around 68 skill points.

The rest are all very easy to obtain.
