I like games. I like ESO, Wildstar, SWTOR, GW2, EVE, AION, TitanFall, BF4, ... and even Runescape. LOL
They are all good games and fun to play.
Some I like more then others. Because of my personal interest and taste. But I'm not going to say a game is "mediocre", "full of bugs", "borring" just because i like some other game.

I don't doubt for a second it has its pros, I hear the pvp is great. I only got to level 10 in the beta so my impression comes only from the feel of the game, the general gameplay and how short it fell from what could be expected from such a huge and expensive production that promised the sun/moon/stars. More power to anyone who enjoys it though. Not trivialising the difficulties of game development but I just wish they'd take a chance and push the envelope out a bit more when they set out to make these games, that's the only thing that moves things forward. Every release in the last few years appears to have a 'playing it safe' policy to say the least.

And I agree with you. I also got some bad impressions on Beta. Since it was a Beta, not the final game. And they been listening to their fan base, doing all the needed changes the fans ask them to do. I had to give it a shot and I don't regret it.
I'm not in-love with ESO yet, but I'm having alot alot alot of fun playing with it.
If I'm going to play ESO for long time? I really don't know. For sure I will play it at least 6 months. After that it completely depends of the future updates they promissed. At the moment they are just fixing small bugs and tunning up the servers. The updates must be starting to arrive after they got everything right.
Don't take me wrong, ESO at the moment have alot of content just like it is. Must have at least 400 quests and that is alot for a launching game. Just the other day I have to help saving a town against from a infectious disease. Or another quest where I had to do it with 3 other friends together in order to complete it. At least 1/3 of all quests have multiple endings. And the best part of it is that i'm not obliged to do any of thouse quests to get access to the full game.
Two things I have to say about ESO:
- You would not belive the speed they fix bugs. You report a bug and in less then 72 hours they have it fixed.
- They showned over and over for several times that Zenimax listen to their costumers. Giving consideration to all the suggestions made. And that is very very rare.
Just for this two reasons i have to say that it is a good bet to give Zenimax a chance.

I play EvE too and i agree that the economy is top notch.
I ll be on WildStar also and if it doesnt go well i ll think my choises after. Tbh i like that WildStar have a PLEX like system (CREED) and Guild Tax option like EvE. It also have Auction House
I can't say much about TESOs economy, but having actively played EvE Online between 2003 and 2011 I can say that you still have to learn a lot about EvEs economy.
While the basic principle of EvEs economy is a great idea, the game is filled with thousands of BOTs. Some are specialized in mining and are able to mine, transport ores and finally refine them and create sell orders. Others are specialized in 0.0 ratting. These ones can usually be found around 0.0 NPC stations.
This is just the thing about BOTs. Other issues have been that the formerly known alliance Band of Brothers included members that were developers. They handed over ultra rare tech2 blueprints which back then could only be won via lottery. Another scandal or bug abuse grandeur was uncovered around 2009 I think. There was a bug related to moon ores allowing to dish out multiple amounts of high end ressources. The market had been flooded for years and it took roundabout another year until equipment and ship prizes normalized.
EvE has many bugs and some of them are related to economic activities. The only thing ... these bugs are kept a secret by a hand full of players.
But yes, EvE offers probably the most developed economic system of all MMOs.
I just want to share my experience so far at TESO. I'm already level 50 and veteran lvl 6, please don't think there is a huge difference at VR10, there is not.
GFX, Production level & Perfomance
This must be the most powerfull MMO in terms of GOOD graphics and awesome perfomance. I mean, when you're playing along 100 people on your side, you know you're in a well optimized game so far. I can't say the same about design art, really. There's an impressive areas, with very good use of lighting and such effects, but in terms of artistic design, the game is pretty boring and unvaried.
The world seems static, nothing really moves, nothing is alive. NPCs are boring, acting like robots, I mean obviously they don't have life, but it lacks personality. Sincerely I don't care about their lives and his problems.
There are really impressive things like Dark Anchors, but after seeing them for 4 or 5 times, fail to impress me. They are all the same except for the enemies you find... but there are not many variety If have to tell you.
Leveling & VR content
Leveling is really fun when you touch it for the first time, so far the first zone, then you get to the second and it's exactly the same, then the third and the fourth straight lose interest except for the main quest.
All areas are equal: minizones with quest hubs that are only 2 or 3 chain quests that direct you to another minizone. Around them there public dungeons, skyshards and bosses for 3 or 4 people, nothing relevant or exciting after having done for 10 times.
And that's another annoying thing, in terms of replayability the game does not offer so much. Oh yeah, now you're 50 and have to climb 10 veteran levels, but they feels like another extra 10 levels more but demanding more experience per level, they are not anything special and you not feel more powerful with them.
Veteran content just consist on playing "new areas" without the main quest missions or guild missions, ie, the best quests. It's like you're just playing the boring parts of the game. Sorry to saying, but main quest and guild quests are very well done it, but the rest are just a meh.
Dungeons
Some of them are extremely short, which is not a bad thing, but they are not anything special. Many of them feels like filler content. A small area with 3 or 4 bosses super-easy to do. I do not understand why people claims that they are hard or rewarding... I'm doing Veteran dungeons with my group of friends, and are really EASY to do. Please, even the first dungeon in Wildstar is 10 times more difficult than this.
About the rewards, oh boy, the design is moving actually in the wrong way. What a complete mess, the loot have to be obtained by chests, because bosses usually drops nothing but trash. It's quite normal to finish the dungeon without any item, I meant gear items.
The problem with chests is that anyone can open them, but who design this system? It's horrible to play with pugs, really.
PVP
I will not say much else about that PVP, since I'm not a fan of this kind of PVP. Do not understand how people like to play with groups of 100 people, destroying people on the road that has no choice and conquering holdings while one group and another fight from a distance, and no one dares to approach because they die. (insta-die)
For me it is boring, but I have to admit that sieges looks technically impressive, are a joy to watch. But in terms of fun, not my cup of tea. Yeah I know you can carry a small group to roam, but it's not so much better. YEP, I'm more an Arenas, BGs and open world PVP, but not that "open world pvp".
Nothing to say, respect for those who like, really, just not designed for me.
UI & Guild Stores
This should probably be the worst UI I've seen in a long time, I mean, why if something works well, you change it to be tedious and uncomfortable? There are things that are really annoying, ugly menus and uncomfortable to use it, like inventory system, so much skyrim alike... not works well for a MMO. Don't trying to tell me is "different", it's not, just a poor UI design.
About the Guild Stores, oh boy, I remember when they announced that game would not allow auction houses like others MMO, what a false statement. Actually there are auction houses that are designed only for clans, and each clan can only allow a maximum of 500 players.
There is no search engine for the AH, it's just horrible. You put "mats" and let you out, you can not even organize them.
BUGS
Finally my favorite section. Yes, there are bunch of people who saying that have not been experienced any bug, the game is 10, good for them, but for the rest of us we have experienced a huge amount of bugs.
Stop summoning your mount, floor breaking and absorb your character to infinity and beyond, NPC disappeare and never come back, NPC that stop working, quest items that become non-interactive,quest bugged missions that break your progress (and there are people who can not climb veteran levels for a week because ZeniMax has not fixed yet), graphic effects that stay permanent in your character, items that disappear from your inventory and rollbacks that randomly affect a group of people and returns them to 20 minutes in the past.
And this is only a small of them, trust me. Me and friends of mine, such people around the game experienced more than that.
This game is far from be "release candidate", there are too uncomfortable problems, and it's very sad to see how other games in recent years have come out in a much better way. Well polished, something that TESO lacks a lot.
High End Content
Disappointing. Everything is based on up to 50 and then up 10 plus extra levels do not really add anything new. Content is nonexistent, set up with gear and go throght Cyrodiil. PVE is nothing but adventure zones, and they are not in the game atm. So you do nothing but pvp.
No more to say, really. Content is not exist atm as well, is more of the same without a purpose or goal, just like GW2 but with vertical advance. Yup, there is a carrot, but a bad one.
Finals words
I don't understand the hype for this game, it seems mediocre at best. I sincerely believe that as today there are better games to play on the market or most interesting and not too distant future release.

I only got to level 10 in the beta so my impression comes only from the feel of the game, the general gameplay and how short it fell from what could be expected from such a huge and expensive production that promised the sun/moon/stars. More power to anyone who enjoys it though. Not trivialising the difficulties of game development but I just wish they'd take a chance and push the envelope out a bit more when they set out to make these games, that's the only thing that moves things forward. Every release in the last few years appears to have a 'playing it safe' policy to say the least.

And I agree with you. I also got some bad impressions on Beta. Since it was a Beta, not the final game. And they been listening to their fan base, doing all the needed changes the fans ask them to do. I had to give it a shot and I don't regret it.
I'm not in-love with ESO yet, but I'm having alot alot alot of fun playing with it.
If I'm going to play ESO for long time? I really don't know. For sure I will play it at least 6 months. After that it completely depends of the future updates they promissed. At the moment they are just fixing small bugs and tunning up the servers. The updates must be starting to arrive after they got everything right.
Don't take me wrong, ESO at the moment have alot of content just like it is. Must have at least 400 quests and that is alot for a launching game. Just the other day I have to help saving a town against from a infectious disease. Or another quest where I had to do it with 3 other friends together in order to complete it. At least 1/3 of all quests have multiple endings. And the best part of it is that i'm not obliged to do any of thouse quests to get access to the full game.
Two things I have to say about ESO:
- You would not belive the speed they fix bugs. You report a bug and in less then 72 hours they have it fixed.
- They showned over and over for several times that Zenimax listen to their costumers. Giving consideration to all the suggestions made. And that is very very rare.
Just for this two reasons i have to say that it is a good bet to give Zenimax a chance.
I am not gonna say anything about his points, or all the other points. I am gonna say you totally forgot a major thing about the game. Which is why i am quitting, you forgot the uncountable amounts of bots, camping everything from bosses, to flower spawns. I dont even think the ESO team does anything about it, but make posts on their site that they ban them. I dont see any proof they banned them, but....
I mean they would cheer every one up if they just took those super great phone techs they have, gave them a computer and told them to monitor the dungeon bosses, and monitor the zone chats.
Anyways that is why I am quitting, i rather enjoy the economy of games, but i can already tell this game isnt gonna have one at all. I mean I already seen the game inflate within the few weeks it has been out. Then with the gold bots, and farm bots well, it is only a matter of time before you see. Selling iron igots 10000 gold per stack.
Yes you totaly right. Economy in eso sucks. Actualy i don't even think you can call it economy.
I never seen so many gold sellers come to a game so fast. I have not seen yet thouse bots camping bosses or picking flowers you told. But gold sellers OMG, so many!
Best economy game I ever played was EVE Online. It's an old game (2003) , if you haven't tryied it yet give it a shot.
Yeah I have tried it, I just couldent get into the combat. I really enjoyed the trading and crafting of it though. If wildstar doesnt pull through for me, I will prolly go back to eve, intill repopulation comes out. I am going back to skyrim though for now.
I play EvE too and i agree that the economy is top notch.
I ll be on WildStar also and if it doesnt go well i ll think my choises after. Tbh i like that WildStar have a PLEX like system (CREED) and Guild Tax option like EvE. It also have Auction House
I can't say much about TESOs economy, but having actively played EvE Online between 2003 and 2011 I can say that you still have to learn a lot about EvEs economy.
While the basic principle of EvEs economy is a great idea, the game is filled with thousands of BOTs. Some are specialized in mining and are able to mine, transport ores and finally refine them and create sell orders. Others are specialized in 0.0 ratting. These ones can usually be found around 0.0 NPC stations.
This is just the thing about BOTs. Other issues have been that the formerly known alliance Band of Brothers included members that were developers. They handed over ultra rare tech2 blueprints which back then could only be won via lottery. Another scandal or bug abuse grandeur was uncovered around 2009 I think. There was a bug related to moon ores allowing to dish out multiple amounts of high end ressources. The market had been flooded for years and it took roundabout another year until equipment and ship prizes normalized.
EvE has many bugs and some of them are related to economic activities. The only thing ... these bugs are kept a secret by a hand full of players.
But yes, EvE offers probably the most developed economic system of all MMOs.

Oh I'm not a fanboi I don't think the game is great or awesome. I think it's a good game but when you have obnoxious posters who hijack every thread it gets a little annoying.
