So it's becoming more and more apparent that the developers were out of their depth on this one, like a bunch of kids saying "hey, lets make an MMO!" and implementing ideas with no real synergy and no real foresight into their implications in a fully operational game.
The question is, as the bugs, functional flaws, and design miscalculations pile up do you think we'll see a roll-back, a relaunch or, worse yet, the dreaded white flag of the NGE with such things as an AH, single guild system, instanced dungeons, etc.
Thoughts and speculations on where you think this this runaway train is headed are appreciated.

I don't care at this moment. Really upset with the whole duping fiasco and reading people bragging about getting away with duping in guild chat just makes me feel bad for legit players.
So once i hit 50 and reach end of the story i won't be turning back. they can roll back, relaunch or even shut down the servers for all i care.
I am playing it as a single player game and i will do with ESO what i do with every single player game. Once finished..shelf it.
Way to exaggerate. Yes, design flaws. Yes, bugs (and some pretty big ones).
Hardly a bunch of kids saying 'lets make an MMO'.
Getting so tired of reading over exaggerated one off statements.
It's not going to change, except to turn into F2P in about a year time probably.
The reason why I didn't buy the game despite actually liking some of it, is because beta/weekend and PTS testing told me that ZOS had no interest in listening to the players and fixing bugs.
I gotta agree with Dig, talk about hyperbole to the max.
Are we even playing the same game? lol. You will see none of the stuff you claim, because this is pretty common at MMO releases, there are always a few drama queens claiming the sky is falling, but things usually turn out fine.
Aside from a few minor issues, the only thing that bothers me is the bots everywhere, GW2 had the same problem, and they got that under control, I think ESO will be just fine.
Actually, i was pretty much a large supporter of this game.
Seriously though a lot of the decisions made by Zenimax are very amatuerish at best.
I do not need to go into detail, because if you have played this game for more than a week you will see it for yourself.
Lolipops !
I personally think that they're going to get these issues ironed out soon enough and hopefully the population will be more stable after the free month which will give ZOS a break.
As far as F2P goes, I hope ESO stays P2P and if it starts failing, it should just shut down entirely and not do F2P. Just so F2Pers never get a chance to play it. They don't deserve a game this good.
Highlighted part.
Do you mean turn in fine as in losing majority of subs in couple of months due to bad launches and failing to recover and then eventually turn F2P?
Then yes i agree. It will turn out just fine.
"Did you hear, some stranger saved King Casimir's Life."
"Do you know who the stranger was? I'd like to buy that hero an ale!"
Playing: Smite, Marvel Heroes
Played: Nexus:Kingdom of the Winds, Everquest, DAoC, Everquest 2, WoW, Matrix Online, Vangaurd, SWG, DDO, EVE, Fallen Earth, LoTRo, CoX, Champions Online, WAR, Darkfall, Mortal Online, Guild Wars, Rift, Tera, Aion, AoC, Gods and Heroes, DCUO, FF14, TSW, SWTOR, GW2, Wildstar, ESO, ArcheAge
Waiting On: Nothing. Mmorpg's are dead.
I guess we will see in "A couple of months" if the "majority of subs" on TESO are gone.
This left me speechless. Just WOW...

It will be Phishing Heaven.
Pretty sure it wont head for any of those retarded scenarios.
Its a disaster but on the bright side everything will be ironed out before console players get their hands on it. Makes me consider getting the PS4 version instead.
It is a ruse.
The game is fully operational. It will shortly fire its laser at the largest ship in the Rebel Fleet, sending the Rebels into disarray and finally ensuring the Empire's total and utter dominance over the galaxy.
Or something along those lines.
Untill they have fixed all the ways you can dupe there is no point doing anything. If they do something, they should just delete all gold and items instead of a full character wipe from servers. I don't see why they need to reset everyone to lvl 1.
Some players have been able to level up their crafting with dupes items, for example enchanting so crafting could also be reset, but it would be better if they just created a new system, so that everyone benefits from a crafting reset.
Agreed. While some of these are expected at certain levels, when you look at the whole pie, it's hard not to be incredibly frustrated as a paying customer. I feel for those people worse affected.
This sums up my thoughts, nigh on exactly.
F2P can take a hike, ESO to stay sub for life I say.
Let's not forget the lack of a proper auction house replacement, which lead Zenimax to actually recomend outside party trade sites.
I'm fine with a total reset as long as they give me another 30 days. I am more concerned they knew of it in beta and didnt resolve it. I left Rift over the same thing...and they did little to nothing.
Which is why the mantra of MMO's is exploit and exploit often.
It is also why I counsel revealing these kinds of exploits, because the developers very rarely address them until it becomes game impaciting or widespread. You see what the results of that inaction is now.
This sums up my thoughts, nigh on exactly.

so i mean really..not to shun the young here but how old are you guys posting this nonsense..you act like this is the second "new" mmorpg that you have ever played and the other was your first...ALL NEW MMORPGS have problems upon release this is nothing new ..yes some a lil better than others and some worse..the sky isnt falling ...everybody needs to stop with these nonsence threads like new games shouldnt have flaws..theres nuttin new here
Pretty much all the MMOs have problems of all kind at launch, as a MMO players, you should know that.
Not...YET.
Still early though and anythings possible.
For the budget and name ESO HAS and the fact this is 2014 vs the time and budget AO had- I would say they are neck in neck.
And? Have you never had to answer a security question, provide a PIN, etc when dealing with support of any kind before? You guys complain about them having no security, but now are complaining that they're asking you to verify who you are to investigate issues with your accounts.
Try calling your ISP, phone company, cable company, bank, etc. Chances are the majority of them will require some form of verification (PIN, DOB & last 4 of social, an answer to a security question, etc) before they will help you with ANYTHING, even tech support in some cases (i know my ISP does). At the company I work for we also don't assist anyone unless they can verify who they are by providing security information that we have on file for them. Doesn't matter what the issue is. No verification = no help, even with general questions.
As someone in that thread mentioned, would you prefer that anyone who manages to get into your email through other means be able to send emails to ZOS on your behalf and gain access to / make changes to your account without at least attempting to verify that it is actually you? Or even worse, email from somewhere else claiming to be you and claiming it's because of something like your email got hacked, and then ZoS helping them do stuff with your account without asking security questions?
