Does PvP need a 3-way conflict to stay interesting?

    3-way conflict means absolutely nothing if players don't care about faction pride.  This goes for what ever number of sides a game has.  

    Players today would rather reroll to a winning side than actually use the 3+ faction system in game to team up against the winning side.

    what about more than only 3 factions in conflict ?, as in sandbox mmo games

    this is true to some degree.  People weren't rerolling on new servers but were migrating to new servers with all there chars, until they put in a week to xfer and cost money to do it.

     

    This was partly due to people in GW2 migrating to the winning servers so you ended up with one server with high pvp populations.

    factions suck, nobody cares about them... it should be about guild vs guild and territory control and disputes is what keeps it interesting..
