Well the person sitting and typing this is a veteran console MMO player  , how's that for you ?

Yeah i'm a vet console player with the latest PS4 sitting under my TV. Many, many console players have never picked up a mmo and in fact don't own PCs.

I'll stand by my first line and please stop signing your name after every post lol, it's actually pathetic.

Didn't make it that far, as it was such a poorly executed review.  Simply extremely immature and seeming to go out of the way to blow anything negative out of proportion in an attempt to add humour and to "impress" those in the game segments.  It  doesn't matter what game the review is about, it was just bad.  Kind of guess he'd give it 10/10 if the quests had farting jokes.

The claimed grouping issue is total bull, as I quest in a team of three constantly.  Only solo quests, by design, cause us to separate.  I know some are experiencing bugs, but personally I've experienced very few.  Although I have had to reload a few times, when unable to click on something.  Maybe it's fraction based.  AD bored me to tears, so it would be good to see a review that uses another fraction.  All the bad ones appear to be early AD focused.

I have to agree here , watching his reviews these days is like listening to a ten year old , I think the guy has figured out that the more shit he sprouts , the more views he gets, its also sad that there seems to be an army of sycophants that hang on his every word... I know the game isn't perfect , but it deserves better than this.

You sure you watched the video?

He totally gushed when it came to PvP, and even moreso on character advancement.  the open skill system, getting away from the tab-target/toolbar systems... no more cooldowns... if he's a "shill" for games that have that stuff, he's not a very good one.

Yes I caught the tid bits of how he did like the character skill diversification and while I can't see how he "gushed" over PvP when he was painfully comparing it to GW2, and DAoC... ESO stands well in PvP on it's own as I stated in my write up... DAoC belongs in some hall of fme for it's innovation at the time, but it is only a shell of itself today. You won't get this same experience in GW2 either as the map size and tactical approach is completely different.

I say he was soft playing because he made these comparisons when again ESO clearly stands on it's own in terms of modern MMO PvP.

Most of his review he constantly brings up Subs... "This feature is ok but sub", "There are F2P games that don't have subs" blah blah blah... Not all of us are broke college kids or trying to feed a family of 5 working at Walmart...

He is a "fast food reviewer" however his reviews are like "I went to McDonalds, but I hate hamburgers"

    What are your other Hobbies?

Gaming is Dirt Cheap compared to this...

Oh and, yes, maybe your just a weird one, that likes a average game, but hey, its hard for some to realise, so to act cool, they just come here and try and defend this game.

This game is a insult, and it will makes the chance of a decent mmo comming out in the future way harder.

    Sucks.........

Lol i guess the server must be down, why else would they be running to the rescue of every negative thread about ESO surely they would be killing mudcrabs somewhere in Tamriel instead of wasting precious gaming time on these forums.

Well your second two sentences are even worse , well done. What has owning a PC and being a vet MMO player got to do with you being a vet console player ? You don't need to own a PC to be a vet console MMO player. I played console MMO's for 11 years. So again as I said your sentence grouping up ESO as a console game coupled up with zenimax not caring about vet MMO players is a false statement.

Then you try to attack how I end my posts , how original , now please think before you type garbage and I will ask as you did please ?

I dont think he was bashing subs, I think his point is that ESO did not do well enough to be worth a sub when some F2P games are doing it as well or better then ESO. Also why pay now when he thinks it going F2P sometime.

Just because I am not a student anymore or have to take care of a family, does not mean I would spend money when I can get the same expirience for free. I am also pretty sure he is anything but broke seeing the views he is getting. I however have failed to find a MMO like ESO in a free to play form. The only game coming close storywise would be LOTRO and none has the combat that ESO has.

I only played the beta but I got the same exact feeling that this guy is describing. No immersion and a blatant cash grab for a mediocre MMO. IMO, they seriously misused the license to sell copies and I think it is going to come back to bite them.

-Its off topic but I am really wondering why many people are trying to equate 'not liking this game' to wanting a 'F2P game'?

It isnt the subscription that is the problem- I personally wont touch a F2P game and I think ESO is a sub par experience NOT WORTH a subscription. That does not mean that once it goes F2P I am going to be happy and play the game. Game will still be sub par in my eyes. That said, the sub for this game isnt worth it.

I cannot watch the review atm but I will so I am basing my comment on what I have read second hand BUT I agree with Joe (what I am reading second hand). The PVE is pretty bad unless you enjoy quest grind after quest grind after quest grind with an illusion of 'choice . It isnt good. That isnt to say the quests themselves are npt good (for video game quests they are above average imho) but...Thats all there is. Run from quest to quest to quest to quest and follow a pre written story that essentially is the same for everyone.

If I want to be hand fed a poorly written 'epic' I would prefer to take my chances with a book.

The PVP I never tried (I am not a pVP er) BUT I hear its decent and it looks pretty decent. But is a poor single player quest grind with good PVP worth $15/month? No. Its not going to last (I also think it was never meant to last but to use the PC launch to beta test the console launch and shorty thereafter switch to new payment model- That was and is my opinion and we will see) but that doesnt mean I would even play it as a F2P NOR do I want to play a F2P game.

It merely means this game does not merit a sub and wont last. That is not against the "Sub" model (which I prefer) but is specificlly against THIS GAME not being worth it.

I enjoy watching Joe give an example, then completely contradict himself in the next breath; I suppose that is his form of the dielectric. Why didn't he figure any of this out in his beta experiences?

He was correct about it being far too "on the rails" and with the massive amount of bots.

THAT is a good question. Why didnt he figure this out in beta? I did...

Honestly that is probably a very valid point- I am sure he DID figure it out but this allowed him to make another video during release for the hits to that video that are surely going to come pouring in.

He is a reviewer who makes a living off of this (or trys to anyhow) so this is an opportunity to gain a ton more hits and views now that he is reviewing the released game.

Because a professional reviewer should  review the released product and not the beta product.

I hate GW2 PvE, there zerg style dungeons make me so mad. I do like the WvW and when I need a PvP fix I still log in from time to time and I have spent some money in their cash shop. Now that may come to an end with Wildstar if their warplots are done just as well or better. F2P often mean you get to go back and see if the game is worth playing again and supporting at no risk. Heck I wont go back to WoW to see if its any better because I dont want to drop 15 bucks to find out.

let me say that i defended ESO from alot of hate and flames.
I still love every minute of it.

After reaching V1 and know the story and going trough it with my alt is pure torture.
I was leveling fast so no bots and gold farmers in public dungeons yet.
PvP i was on par with the higher leveld people both friend and foe.

Now going on my alt and its a totaly diffrent game.

Each public dungeon filled with bots...long respawn timers and miniboss gets 1 shotted so you often have to wait between 1 or 3 try's to get the achievement and bonus exp, you can waiste around 15 minutes there...
And each zone has around 10 / 20 of these public dungeons...

4 person standard dungeon is around 3exp per mob...and almost no items or gold either so if you die a few times then your going to spend 1500 gold repairs while you gained almost nothing.

Cyrodiil pvp you see group of 6 to 8 V10 killing "raping" 30 people...
PvP quest made daily so no way to level trough pvp contend...

Grouping with your guild to quest.....forget it as its realy painfull to do :(

The list goes on and on and on, these things are taking away fun from playing this mmo.
Why on earth would Zenimax have made these decisions ? why ?

Its a great mmo !!! prolly one of the better ones out there, but these things just makes it feel realy bad to play trough the game...
And its a long way to get to V10, i am affraid many people wont even get there before quiting due to the reasons and bad parts of the game.

I realy hope Zenimax wakes up and fix many of the wrongs before we have a SWTOR 2.0 incomming.
if it aint to late already as the free month is almost up :(
People who already have a sour taste from the bugs dupes downtimes etc etc might already be gone.

Realy hope this can still be fixed and repaired.

I think thats a really honest summary. Thanks for this.

You like the game but can discuss its faults and are not blind to mistakes made. Your enjoyment and support of this game is not blinding you to problems others are seeing.

-Really. Thanks for this. This is how good discussion starts.

Pvp was amazingly good for the first week, when skill was in play. Now there are so many unbalanced an overpowered factors, Cyrodiil is basically totally empty except for people running scout missions.

Was it possible to start off making Meridian 59 or UO vids? My damn HD wouldnt have handled a DVD worth of information in those days.

    You sound angry...

Of course he is doing it for the money- But in a less shady way that the average "gaming magazine journalist" or "website" is . All the "pro" journalist have never rated a "AAA" game under a 6-7 meaning according to the "journalist's" ALL of the games we have ever gotten are well above average.

I agree- trust nobody. But listen to everyone. It isnt like the things he is saying is only being said by him. I agree with him here (based on what I have read second hand since I cannot watch the video) and I usually do not agree with him concerning MMOs- So....

People who already have a sour taste from the bugs dupes downtimes etc etc might already be gone.

Realy hope this can still be fixed and repaired.

Honest opinion. We need more guys like you. Not only for ESO, but also for Wildstar (when it launches) or every other game. GZ!

"You done fucked it up"  Cracks me up. Spot on review although I do think 5 is a little low IMO. He touched on many of my key complaints with this game and the genre in general. All in all I agree with his opinion and while I am currently having an ok time of it, I can see it wearing thin quickly.

While I agree with many that this is just one person's opinion, I must admit that more than a few of my guild members subscribe to him and respect his opinion and were awaiting a review on the finished product since he stated he would do one. With all of the bad press going around about the launch issues, his review may put a nail in the games coffin for the 3 others I was hoping would come and join me, which in turn makes me want to play the game less.  I know it is  a drop in the bucket and no you can't have my stuff. And before people post idiotic and stupid remarks about forming ones own opinion, my members are doing just that by getting impressions from more than one source. Mine has been fairly positive and still wasn't enough to sway the negative opinions obtained from their beta experiences.

RIP Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan and Paul Gray.
