I didn't resub for several reasons. The main reason is I got burnt out. I played no more than 5 to 10 hours a week, but because I rerolled so many times I ended up burning myself out by doing the same quests over and over again. I also burnt myself out on the skill system. Only have 5 skills on a hotbar at any given time was too less for me. In order to create my ideal character, I kept coming up with 2-3 more skills than was allotted to me, and having a weapon swap hotbar doesn't solve that.
Other reasons include quest bugs, other bugs/dupes, a lot of downtime, gold spammers, and bots. I played several AAA subscription MMO's at their launch and I've never had an issue with past launches. The biggest thing in past launches that I experienced was login ques. Gold Spammers are in every modern MMO, but not in the extreme that they're in ESO. My chat box is non-stop spam for the first 5 minutes I log in, and then they pop up periodically after I spend the few minutes ignoring and reporting the first batch of them. I've seen bots in GW2, Aion and ESO, but I don't remember them being in other games. I'm sure they were, but they weren't so freakin obvious to me.
Overall, the game just doesn't seem like it's ready for release. Everyone expect some issues at launch, but not these kinds of issues. These are issues that should of been handled in beta or planned for before the release of the game (bots, gold spam). Instead, they're being reactive instead of proactive. The exact opposite of what I train my employees to be at my workplace.
So despite finding the crafting and quests highly entertaining and engaging, I ended my sub. That's a shame, because I pre-ordered the game and from the videos and other press I followed, it seemed like a game that'd entertain me for some months to come. So what were your reasons?

Another one of these threads? Also did you ask a question and then answer it yourself?
Do you really think that anyone gives a damn that an anonymous internet person stopped playing a video game, or that you don't like something?
I am playing dark souls for the first time now and loving it,cant wait for dark souls 2.
so I will re sub.for eso while playing dark souls rather than buying wild star.
tell me what else is there to play.
I don't see any evidence supporting that argument
People care just as much about that as people do who continue to play a game and love it so much to blindly flaunt it. Both sides of the coin really.
Though yes the subject could of been worded much better I feel to be more neutral, though eh thereare tons of "This game is the second coming of Jesus" or "This game is the apolocylpse of all MMos" threads. This one isn't SO bad at least even if its not completely neutral.
Game is decent but these days I simply do not have 300+ hours to invest in leveling just to be viable in PvP.
While I definitely enjoyed what time I spent in Cyrodiil, I'm heading back to GW2 and WoW because they simply offer more gameplay options for casual players like my friends and I.
I hope the game does well and may come back down the road if they offer other leveling options besides questing for hundreds of hours.
wow , thats some wierd logic there. next thing is that a mumbled 'uhu' qualifies as an answer...
When you look at all the doom and gloom threads, it is usually the same handful of people complaining. So this handful versus the thousands of people too busy having a blast to find time to post the opposite
This game was released at the right time and with an acceptable number of concerns for an MMO. Yes if it was a single player game I would agree too soon
The game is great and ls living up to all my expectations INCLUDING the bugs
I pay more attention to people stating "just not their playstyle" over bug biotchin'

In all honesty the game mechanics felt stale. I enjoyed theory crafting builds more than I actually enjoyed playing the game. I am an altoholic. I prefer to make multiple character and have fun messing with build ideas. The higher level my main achieved that less I wanted to play my alts simply due to there not being much fun factor in repeating the same content. If the combat was stellar this wouldnt be a problem. Also if PvP was a source of leveling, I would also have been content to create new builds and PvP with them.
I just do not feel motivated to grind out levels in PvP and hunt for the same Shards that I have already found 5x already. I believe that Shards should be an account unlock meaning that when you find one, every character on that account gets it. If I could focus more on the PvP aspects of the game, I would be still interested in the game.
Then play a bored game...
At first, I thought it was amazing. I got bored really quickly.. I think the game will be good once there's more things to do other than follow map markers or run around a PvP zone for 2 hours and see 15 minutes of action. Despite the technical issues, phasing issues and stuff.. it's still not offering enough things to do.. to collect. to achieve. I went back to Rift after not playing for over a year. That's what ESO did.. made me want to play a traditional MMO instead of one of these strange new hybrid identify crisis MMOs.
I care what random people on the internet think.....your argument has been disproven
I didn't resub because the game makes it near impossible to level with friends due to restrictions from the megaserver....and i dont see that being changed any time soon.
Some people like to try things themselves instead of listening to other people's opinion and deciding based on that.. also some people don't care about losing a bit of money for that privilege. Yes, hilarious......
LOL
Anywho I unsubbed within 2 weeks of launch. This game is boring as shit. I do like me a good quest, but I just get so numb to the questing after a while. It just seems like a chore and I don't believe the game was made with artistic integrity. It was made to copy the success of elder scrolls and capitalize on the subscription mmo model.
PVP-- also boring.
Plus I got Dark Souls II on preorder, cannot WAIT to start that on Friday.
Watchdogs coming out soon too.
Too many good games to play to spend my time being bored.
