So I figured asking this question under the videos section dosent make too much sense since no one can edit their responses. That and it relies on someone actually clicking the link to even see what I wrote.
And since I'm hoping what I may be guessing at is finally coming true.
My post copied from the video comments.
"Someone help me out here. Almost all these EVE videos herald something (game) changing about the game. Do you think they are finally opening Jovian space? Thats the only reason I can see the Amarrins being really pissed (scared) and wanting to stop it (per the video).
Even though I dont play EVE any longer I still love the game its continuing back story and even evolving player story. I personally think this is what EVE needs to shake things up.
What are you thoughts?

Maybe, but the player built stargates are still quite a way into EVE's future. First CCP intend to
1) Complete the Science & Industry rework
2) Rework structures (POS, sov structures, etc)
3) Rework Corp & Alliances
4) Rework Sovereignty
Those are pretty big projects. All vitally necessary, but they'll suck up a lot of dev resources.
Give me liberty or give me lasers
So in EVE-Dev time this is
1. 1 year
2. 5 years
3. 0.5 years
4. 5 years
So player built stargate will start development after 12 years and that is IF the roadmap holds which it most likely won't cause it is 12 years away.
I seriously doubt they will 'recode' POS though. More likely is that they will introduce 'POS V2' that does POS things but better so players don't use POS and use this other new 'POS V2'. Goes around the whole 'we don't know how POS works cause the guy that coded it was high as a kite when he wrote it at the basement eating magic mushrooms'.

Informing people about your thoughts and impressions is not a review, it's a blog.
It was stated not long ago (Fanfest 2013?) that this was the plan. IMO, it makes far more sense to build a new, modular system from the ground up than to try to build on old code that has been updated and edited by multiple teams over the course of 10 or so years.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein
