Yeah, the problem is: after you sell your integrity/reputation for a few bucks, where do you go to buy it back?

McQuaid is done in the gaming industry.

"...Any money you funnel towards him to make this project a reality is the equivalent of throwing good money after Brad."

Sorry, just couldn't resist that little correction :P

If it was $45,000 for 5 months or $45,000 for 3 months would it really make that big of a difference?

If you worked it out over a year then of course it would make a difference.

$45,000 every 3 months Over 1 year it would mean a salary of $180,00

$45,000 every 5 months would work out just over $110,000 ... so yeah it does make a huge difference if he carried on taking that amount of money.

And you can bet he would have carried on taking the money, if not even more, if it hadn't of all gone pear shaped.

Setting everything aside all the allegations and eccentricities. The fact that he took that money is a huge warning sign and one we should not overlook. You can defend the game, the goals ,the other people working there but the bottom line is why would I trust that this will not happen again. It is something those of us who might have been persuaded to part with our money be afraid of and will be more wary and in all honestly refuse to participate any further in this project. Who can blame them.

You can say the article is unfair ,tantamount to libel so on and so forth but as a warning it has served its purpose. I for one think that where there is smoke there is a fire unless I get sued then I deny everything.

Gardavsshade, you do know that allot has changed over a year ago since this topic was made in may 2014

WTF... Necroing crap like this? Lock, surely?

Yes I screwed up. My disagreements with KS campaigns in MMOs remain however.

    My post will be erased.

I lost €30 but hey wtf is €30 when taking a gamble lol.

I was in ESO beta for quite some while but i didn't buy the game, instead i put 130 something on AA and am having a ball.

You win some you lose some, such is life.image

You didn't lose anything. Your contribution is only debited IF the project fully funds, which it didn't.

I've always been skeptical of this project, to say the least but this is a desperate necro even for haters.

Except they cant, because they are already working on EQN and H1Z1.

Brad *will* get his chance to design an MMO again (probably Pantheon) and it *will* be with SoE.  SoE simply doesnt have the resources atm.

HUMM REALLY? Putting aside this a necro thread that should not have been brought back (not my doing) the recent death of SOE and firing of 30% or so of its employees dose make your statement impossible short of a miracle. (Brad still may make a MMO but it sure as hell won't be with SoE)

Hindsight is always 20/20 but are there any other statements of absolute fact you'd like to share with us from your magic 8 ball? :)

Maybe Brad will hire Smed so it will be like he's making an SOE game in spirit if not name.
