Look no further then Twitch TV to gauge the popularity of the game.  For comparisons sake, ESO is sitting at 199 viewers and Tera is at 175.  This sort of hard proof is evidence of a very mediocre game.  Also for comparisons sake EQ2 is at 283 and ArcheAge is at 730.

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

Well, at least the OP is not using Xfire as a benchmark lol.

Luckily Twitch is in no way a bechmark for good/bad games, otherwise you would claim that WoW and Tera are good games.

    And this matters why?

The people that enjoy it are playing it. The rest are ignoring it or hating on it.

WOW only has 30 something... Wildstar 77 ( a day after launch) must be very unpopular games.. we have hard proof of it here folks.

What is Twitch, never have watched it, better things to do I guess. Makes sense about AA, most folks didn't want to antee up $150.

I find that the majority watch crap on TV, why would it be any different on the interwebz?

Suppose you do need games catered to the Jersey Shore fans. :)

It could also just reflect the zealousness of certain groups of twitch viewers.

For example, AA is a sandboxy game with a steep-ish learning curve. It also has a high buy in price of $150, so people who have bought it may be more committed to it in some ways. Also, there may be people who haven't bought it or who are thinking about it and who watch more videos to make their decision.

ESO might appeal to a much more casual group of adults with jobs who play for 2-6 hours a week and don't really watch twitch TV.

I don't know any of this, but I'm just giving some examples of why twitch may not be the most accurate way to gauge the general popularity of games. There are many other possible variables, but I've only dropped a couple here that came to mind at the moment.

This thread is pointless and was created for one reason and one reason only.. hate on a game that he/she does not like.

I absolutely detest Wildstar (yes tried it) and think it's utter crap, but I do not go on their forums and post this nonsense.

There is no point other than to start crap.  You don't like it and every one of your posts has made that clear.  Shouldn't you be playing your favorite game right about now?

Forums are littered with garbage posts like this that should be culled upon creation.

There's almost 2,000 people watching people play Super Mario 64.  I don't think this is exactly a useful metric.

Using twitch to gauge a game's popularity is like using skin color to determine possible criminal behavior.

I agree both a valid Measuring Tools.

Screw leveling games, give me something with "End game" at the beginning of the game.

    not this time.

sample size of people playing it are streaming it.

    that's why this matters

ROFL 30 for WOW says this gauge is nothing short of well..nothing..

While this post is in no way scientific I thought it was fairly relevant because over the last few years new games have kept a high viewership.  Having less then a couple hundred views on a game that is less then 3 months old is fairly evident of a failing game.  Couple that with all the other issues and lack of subscriber numbers that other studios are eager to publish is indicative of the issues this game has.

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

77 for wildstar says this really doesn't mean all that much, it just released yesterday.

The only issue ESO has is your negative infatuation with it.

You would think that a game that is 1 day out of official release would have a crap ton of streamers on twitch playing it.
