Fake GM in-game email

DibdabsDibdabs Member RarePosts: 3,238
Someone just sent me an in-game email from "GM" asking me to visit a website to confirm my account details.  Yeah, right......  I trust no-one will be bone-headed enough to fall for it, but just in case take this as a warning.

Yeah, there's a warning about this on the login screen. Not had any myself.....yet.

Always good to post warnings about these things. There may be many new players who haven't seen these scams yet.

These people try all sorts of way's.

At first it was just the common gold spam. Then they got more creative and got me Invite accepted mails, resource mails etc..

Their sender name is always pretty clear it's not a GM.

Yes, I've seen a few posts and comments in ESO chat as to how this is some people's first ever mmo, which is why I tought it might be a good idea to mention the scam.  I'd hate a new player to learn the hard way.

Not from this game but another one to watch out for

Your auction has been accepted (or something along those lines) with a gift wrapped attachment which if you click on will take some gold from you.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
