Wow, sorry is all that is said for wasting 2.5 hours of peoples time. Over an hour and a half ago you secretly "poked" them in your database and continued to say nothing after that, forums worked fine people were posting but not you. But that's ok sorry somehow brings back lost time and makes everything ok.
Wow, I sat on my computer this morning for 3 hours constantly refreshing cause I thought the time frame was during the am. Then i sit here for 3 hours trying to refresh through unforgivable lag and then 30 minutes before it ends i see this!?!?!? You guys are assholes, you didnt even give us a certain place to look. Where were the keys at?
And this is exactly why MMORPG.com should not offer the keys to accounts like this because people are sent here from other sites like mmo-champ and they're just here to leech keys away from the actual members of the MMORPG.com community. And they post crap like this? They deserve nothing.

pathetic excuse of an "organization".. my experience on the website was absolutely fine.. easily was loading through pages.. what a joke. My first.. and last time ever visiting this joke of a website
It's 3.30AM here, and you can say only this shit. This is unacceptable. If you had the wonderful idea to post the exact timewindow of the giveaway, you should've thought about the server maintenance... And if you didn't expect this, well, that's fucking ridiculous too....
Today we held our second beta key handout for World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draeno expansion. Unfortunately this did not go as planned and the community being aware of our 4PM-7PM PDT event window brought our web servers to their knees.
Just as the many users could not access our site - we were also unable to load the keys through our normal administration interface and make a traditional news post, twitter post, etc. The only option we had was to "poke" the keys into our database server so that we could meet the commitment we gave the community to get the keys online in that timeframe. After we did this the 500 keys were gone in just over a minute.
We were unaware that we would see this kind of demand for these keys as we have never seen this in the past with any beta key handout event.
The good news - we still have 4,000 beta keys to issue in the month of July. The rest of these will be issued through a weekly sweepstakes event where we will give users 72+ hours to enter the sweepstakes and we will then randomly select the winners and send them keys in the following 24-48 hours. This is the only way that we can capacitate this kind of demand.
We are very sorry for how difficult it was for users to even try to get one of the few 500 keys we had to offer today and we hope these random sweepstakes will at least give all members a free chance to get access to this exciting beta opportunity.
However, my girlfriend has been waiting days for this opportunity to get her key, she was online during the aforementioned timeframe, saw nothing posted and as such was unable to acquire a key.
If you were unable to post the proper way, then you should have posted a news update and delayed the giveaway until you could. Instead you chose to just post it under the old link and let everyone wonder what was going on, while the keys were being snatched up by people who bookmarked the previous link?
That is one of the poorest judgment calls I've ever heard of, and whoever made that choice should, frankly, be ashamed of themselves. You just willingly slapped a large portion of this site's community directly across the face when you could have done the right thing and delayed it for another day (which wouldn't have been the end of the world and is easily the better of the two options you had).
Why is this being posted by a generic admin account?
Who was responsible for this blunder?
Are excuses supposed to make this acceptable?
To say that you "dropped the ball" with this giveaway is, imho, a very accurate statement and not in any way an unfair description of what has occurred here.
Good news though guys! they have 4000 more keys to giveaway to bots and ebay sellers! We can all rest easy.

This was handled about as well as the spelling in the post.
I guess there's always paying 200 dollars on Ebay or some other auction site since I'm sure that's where 99% of these keys ended up anyways.

You really do deserve a key
Somebody get this guy a key....
Jesus, what is with the rage. Man up people.
Anyways, thanks for the apology and explanation.
Strange... during this window staff members were posting on forums and locking threads...
Maybe you couldn't use the news feed but you sure as heck could have posted on the forums...
Only people that would check the OLD site are botters or those that would have had info "leaked" to them.
I wouldn't even use a beta key (haven't played WoW since vanilla, but this is really fishy.
All time classic MY NEW FAVORITE POST! (Keep laying those bricks)
