I used to heavily play shot online, but gave up after the game became way too cash shop needy. If you didnt buy the experience items it would take you a couple months to level up once you reached a certain point. Anyways winning putt was announced probably 4-5 yrs ago and I had thought it was to be released long ago. It has a website www.winningputt.com and it appears its in the 2nd closed beta in Korea. In the USA it was supposed to be published by gamescampus (who also does shot online), but I have heard nothing whatsoever about the US release or beta testing. If anyone knows anything about this game it would be appreciated. Thanks

Unfortunately not. The whole Golf MMO thing has really suffered since Golfstar went down. And yes all of them seem to be HUGE money sinks. There is little more expensive than competatively playing a golf MMO... Shot online can bleed you dry.
Probably the best one currently is Pangya.
There is a void for a good new golf MMO.
Golfstar was the best while it was around.
Meh I did not like golf-star.......I started playing online golf with MS Links 2001....Then I moved to links 2003. I dabbled in various tiger woods games but i did not like them that much (at least online). I did play shot online for a few years and was once in the top tier of players but then I started to get out-leveled and could not keep up with time / money. Once people out-stat you it doesn't matter how skilled you are you can not keep up if they can drive a par 5 and you take 3 shots to reach green. I played golf-star for a bit, but I could not get into it. I liked how the system was set up and I liked how you could add points to various skills, but I thought the leveling was painful and I also had trouble finding games. I did play Pangya a long time ago and it was fun, but last time i logged in it was dead. Some of those players were amazing. Some Korean guy was helping me one day telling me how to calculate how many clicks to aim over based on the wind using trig, and then saying aim 2 clicks for green slope etc etc....It was amazing how they had the courses mapped out.
Anyways there is a game right now on steam called "the golf club." It is still in early access for PC and are going to release console versions. The game is not bad, buts its not an mmorpg and it was not really what i was looking for. Its $30 no cash shop and has regular updates. http://thegolfclubgame.com/
Yeah, I used to really enjoy playing Tiger Woods 06 with real life friends until we all eventually had to upgrade from Windows XP. And then - checking out something newer that would be Win7 or 8 compatible - found out that Tiger Woods had now become console only. Or that the last PC compatible version sucked balls so bad that it wasn't even worth buying anymore.
I couldn't seem to find an alternative, either.
