That's It... I'm done, after weeks of waiting for a new topic, I have come to the conclusion that there is nothing left to discuss. There is nothing new to talk about anymore, games come and games go, posters post to simply post and unless your wet behind the ears, nothing new is being said. It's a shame really, at one point in time this website was full of thoughtful comments and innovative ideas but, Le sigh, that time has come and gone. MMO's are dying, the founders are disenfranchised and the smartphones vegetables have taken over.

I am lucky I guess. I have real life alternatives that occupy my time. I enjoy doing other things now. There was a time however when I relied on MMO's to satisfy my craving to escape reality. On behalf of my generation, I would like to apologize to all the kids who play MMO's today. I would like to apologize for making life so virtual that it is virtually impossible for you to enjoy the experience. I would like to apologize for not explaining how Rome fell and I would like to apologize for not explaining that supremacy isn't a right it's earned.

This is my last post. Your trolls will not collect a fee. Your anger will be unheard. I will see you in reality. . . Look for that fat kid right?

So this is just a broader version of a rage quit post?  Followed by a bunch of rambling that means nothing to anyone but yourself.  Its funny how every single generation says this about the next generation, yet all of their doom and gloom never comes true.

I used to love climbing trees, but then it got too easy to get to the top, they must have dumbed down the trees.  Plus now everyone can climb to the tops of trees.  They just search how to videos on youtube.  Now I don't feel like a special snowflake anymore.

If you're done discussing everything to do with MMOs, a logical assumption would be that you had a fully-worked-out design for your ideal MMO?  Because normally when you run out of thigs to learn, that means it's your turn to produce something original - this applies to both topics of conversation and MMOs.
I want to help design and develop a PvE-focused, solo-friendly, sandpark MMO which combines crafting, monster hunting, and story.  So PM me if you are starting one.

Let's see....no new threads, nothing interesting to discuss, done with forum.  What to do????

I know, let me create a useless thread saying I am done and then don't even delete my account.

Um, yeah...well...uh.  Congrats on real life.  And you can keep yer stuff,  just delete it with your game account(s) and best wishes to your health and happiness, and childhood obesity is not a joke, but a rather sad epidemic.

I completely agree. I occasionally get sucked back into 5+ year old topics, but more recently realizing how the same discussions happen to resurface almost on a weekly basis in a new thread. There is some value here (different views are highlighted in different threads), but it is tiresome. I wouldn't rage quit the site though, that just seems a bit dramatic. I'd be more inclined to start some movements to archive and streamline some of the content, start unique discussions or use the search feature (we have a search feature right? when's the last time anyone used that guy?).

As always I will take your microcosm and turn it into a macrocosm, with so much information/content churn on the internet, the existing automatic curation over algorithmic, arbitrary points systems, or FIFO sorting of information is just not good enough anymore and is giving rise to an overabundance of repeated discussions and content. But hey, fix that problem and you may be looking at the future of the internet as we know it.

I love having meaningful conversations with people on sites like mmorpg.com or /r/mmorpg. And I don't think I'll be stopping just because I occasionally see the same topics reappear. They are obviously worth discussion if they do.

I do like the term Smartphone Vegetables. Must be the same people we call Locusts that destroy a game and move on to the next one frequently I guess?

This is hilarious, for some reason another my phone actually picked this account back up. I don't know why, and I'm still done with MMOs, but how the f*** did this come back into my life? Companies that track your ass and hunt down all the b******* you've done in the past is f****** crazy. Seriously, when's the last time I posted on this account? Why would it restore this s***?

I think we need to have a serious discussion on Google's, microsoft's... I'm sure the list goes on here, invasion of our f****** privacy. Are they calling them cookies because it's a friendly word? Would you like to participate in information sent back to this company because we're just trying to make our product better? Oh, and by the f****** way, it doesn't matter what you click because we're still going to track your ass. Holy f***, how many people here knows that the internet is owned and not just some magical mystery ride that were engaging in? This is proof positive. I had totally forgotten about this account for what 8 years now? Get the f*** out of here.

I'm confused, how does a phone just pick up an old account? You would have to actively sign into the site and it would auto fill if you are still using the same browser account or password manager.

I installed an app onto the site that reminds old members that they have not posted in a while, he must have some pretty stiff security measures to not get a reminder for six years. :D

I'll give you something new to talk about. For 20 years now, gamers have passionately lived in a world filled with in game currency. they fought and bled for it. Then game developers made that currency real. You could turn it in for real money. Those same passionate gamers were so confident they wouldn't lose at gambling their life savings away because they were all undefeated pvpers that they invested in crypto and trusted their industry. All to have it stolen by the same people they so passionately fought to defend. All to have a knife stuffed in their back by rogue programmers. what is there left to say? the industry built on war and loyalty is now an empty wasteland full of poignant promises. how do you inspire trust in a player base you just fked over? that should be your question.
