Staff Member CAUGHT CHEATING...

Slapshot1188Slapshot1188 Member LegendaryPosts: 17,586

It has long been claimed that multiple members of the Mortal Online staff were blatantly cheating and abusing their powers. Now one has been caught red-handed with proof that could not be hidden.  SV has admitted this and fired the staffer.

Here is the post and link to the official forum.  All I can say is "ABOUT TIME!!!!  ONLY TOOK 4 YEARS...

Siege Clarifcation

LGM DiscordLead GameMaster

We understand there are lot of rumors about what happened last night so we feel that it’s in our best interest to clear everything up from our side.

There was a siege going against a tower which one of the participants of the siege sent in a petition about, concerning a pet issue he had. The staff member decided to warn the owners of the tower. I was informed there was no way that the enemy's seen what was going on as they had observers to avoid that.

I confirmed the staff member cheated, and I immediately took action and removed the member from the team, his account has also been perm banned. I also agreed to meet with the victims of this. When something like this happens it’s really hard for us to deal with it as we can't predict what would have happened had the staff member not intervened. I decided to compensate the siege the best I could which includes giving back the catapult, and relocating the victims at their request, also restoring the hit points of the tower.

We can not say this will never happen again but we will do our best to resolve these situations as quickly, and as fair as possible when they do.

Well since there arent any MMOs out there like it, it will always have a niche audience, however small that is.

If there was any other classless skill-based system game with full loot PvP I would be there already. So yes this is the shit we have to deal with.

I can not do class gear grind sticky target anymore, gaming has to be more than just mashing buttons, it should be tactical and immersive, I was hoping ESO would do this but they sold out due to lack of balls.

And thats why Mortal Online will hold a playerbase.

    There isn't really much competition.

Maybe thats why you see so many dedicated haters.  People who jump at any chance to sling mud at the game and stick around doing that for years.

Ultima Online and Darkfall, just to name a few. Ultima Online is getting old, but its still awesome for skill based & full loot.

Darkfall HAS classes but I don't think they force you to pick one, at least not the last time I played it which was before the relaunch.

That's not even getting into all the Asian ones out there that are full PvP.

Darkfall has many things wrong with it, the Roles being one of them leading to the reason they need roles is cause they don't have a skill pool so toons can be masters of everything, thus to be competitive in pvp you need to grind a shit load of skills taking many months. This in turn leads them into a similar situation Eve Online is in as they have gone too linear with their skills making new players take 6 months to train their toons to be able to play with their buddies. Skills should only be an introduction to its dynamics and not take more than 2 hours to grind out, the game is not about grinding, its a big 3D game of Risk, we fight over resources etc.

Mortal Online does have a great concept, just poor in implementation, MO devs believe their low retention is due to not enough content so bust arse to bring out more. The community repeatedly tells them to fix what they have before introducing anything new, so that we may experience great pvp while they slowly and carefully build the game up.

Come now... that is hardly fair.  It's not "any chance"... this has been a comedy of errors from day 1.  I mean, they even blamed a volcano for their issues at one point.

A comedy of errors into a good game concept. And the concept is working. As someone said before, is the only true sandbox mmo out there and for this reason it will have always a dedicated playerbase. I play it sometimes, i go there and come back, for this is my epoch of mmo's burn out.

Now I'm playing Neverwinter; that is the opposite in all and  every term to MO, but man, I need some class AAA mmo to recover the sense of my situation in the world, recover mental sanity and not feeling that the MMORPG world gone crazy in a no return jump to the abyss of "copy wow forever everlasting iteration".

It is a question of fangs.

Yeah I noticed that too!!   Shows you how they are trying to hide things like this from their player base to keep the ILLUSION of honesty!!

If you had played EVE Online you would have known this is absolutely not the case.

In that game you can do tons of stuff to be valuable and the right players around you would love you for it.

I play EVE since beta, and I can log in one of my alts with 3 months training and take down many of the other vets, which you claim would be at a unfair advantage.

Also you can only fly 1 ship at a time, so the 10y vet in a battleship will be toast by the 2month newb in a frigate orbiting him at great speed while taking him down or tackling him so his friends can take him down.

So dont compare EVE to a normal themepark with levels where max level and progression DO make a difference.

    In EVE it does not.
