Firefall Release on the 29th– Free Giveaways by me on the 25th!
The free to play MMORPGFPS made by Red 5 Studios named “Firefall” is set for release July 29th. It's been a long time coming, and the game has changed a lot in the last couple years. I have to say, I'm very excited for its release. This game offers a unique experience that no other game will give you. No other studio has attempted to do what Red 5 has done. Many game development vets have come together to make Firefall. These developers have worked on many successful titles in the past, including Starsiege: Tribes, WOW, and Neverwinter. There is so much raw talent and enthusiasm at Red 5, and it shows.
The game releases on the 29th, but if you want to get in on the action early, you have to get a starter pack. If you want to learn more about the game, and if you want a chance to win a starter pack and other goodies, tune into my stream on Friday the 25th at 4:00 PM EST. During the stream I will be playing through the first few hours of the game, explaining the game as I go. I've played for a long time, and I want to share what I've learned with new players. I will also be giving out 4 Ensign Tiki Masks provided by a few generous players who bought Founders Packs months ago. The Tiki Mask is a rare festive aesthetic that you can put on your character as soon as you get into the game. Red 5 is not giving away any more tiki masks, and there are only so many masks left in the player community. This stream is one of the only ways you can get yourself a tiki mask now!

Firefall takes place on earth, years into the future. Mankind is on the brink of extermination by a mysterious foe called the Chosen. Our demise seems night inevitable, but slowly humanity has been able to push the Chosen back. The Accord, earth's one and only army, has started to enlist mercenary battleframe pilots to aide them in their conflict. That's where you come in.
The story is engrossing, and the world feels alive. You literally have to play for months on end to explore all the content, and even then there is likely something you missed seeing along the way. You start in New Eden, a sprawling open world focused on player-versus-environment combat. New Eden reminds me of the days I played RPG Mod for UT- it's you and your buddies against hordes of enemies that get harder as you level up. There are job boards, but a majority of the content is all dynamic, spawning in the world for you to discover.
Some of you may not care for the story- maybe you just want to blow things up and shoot things down. For those people, I can say Firefall delivers on all fronts. The arsenal in the game caters to many playstyles. Everyone has access to a jetpack, and everyone can gain access to vehicles and gliders. You can play the game first person or third person. There is also a large open world PVP zone called Broken Peninsula where armies fight for land and resources. Broken Peninsula is well on its way to becoming something fantastic.
If you're an MMO player, you owe it to yourself to try Firefall. You have nothing to lose- it's free!
