I didn't sign on for this and don't see myself ever doing so, but wasn't the whole point of the founders back then for the exclusivity of it?
Seems like a pretty shady move.
From the SOE website:
Founder's Packs grant you unrestricted access to the Landmark Closed Beta, so you can help create the world of Landmark.

They never promised they would not change in price. They never promised "Exclusivity", which amounts to people wanting a different status quo when the game goes live. You are paying to test a game and for some online goodies. Them lowering the price will get more people in the game, more testing done, and more progress toward a release. This is a good thing in my opinion.
Then I retract my statement. It's just like what others have said. It went on sale. It happens.

Yes, but chargeback for what reason? It was not an unauthorized charge.
Just tell them the truth... That you are unhappy with a sale and intend to commit credit card fraud...
Or just write those 60$ off... You still get what you are promised and you will still be able to have fun. Honestly how many times have you wasted money and not had fun...

You're promoting cashgrabbing and reward unfinished products, based on a promise of something better.
SOE was ripping you off far before this sale happened.
I could care less about the monetization of testing phases, but how is purchasing a product at an agreed price a ripoff or cash grabbing? No one grabbed anything. What was paid for was fully delivered.
SOE is not ripping anyone off. All the people who paid outrageous amounts of money to test a game had it coming. SOE is just trying to get more people in by doing a sale. Founders wanted to pay the price, they cant complain now that the price is lower......
Some lessons always stay unlearned, unfortunately.
Yea that would be a great argument except for the fact that SOE clearly stated when they first introduced the Trailblazer (Alpha) packs that they [packs & rewards] would be limited in quantity and never offered again.

And what about that has changed? It could be limited to 2 million, still makes it limited. And if they don't offer them again once they stop offering them, the statement is still factual.
Despite some opposition I still know my feelings on the matter are correct for me. I feel robbed and kicked in the ballz. You should never put the customer in such a position. This is business etiquette 101. People in this new generation are used to that I guess. I remember a time where companies cherished their customers and planned and thought ahead to avoid these issues from being created. SOE's gross incompetence is not my problem. I did file a chargeback today and I wash my hands of this company and their shady practices. Thanks for your input on the matter.
I feel like I am missing something here. So you paid $100 only to find out a few weeks later it went on sale, and now you're upset? Is that all of it? I don't understand. Things go on sale all the time. Most of the time when making any kind of purchase you're going to pay full price for your impatience. Just about everything goes on sale at some point. Given enough time the price plummets. Why is this news? Where do you live that this happens so rarely that it's shocking?
What's more shocking to me are some of the comments condemning SOE for it. So... they shouldn't put their games on sale?

You got what you paid for. You are committing credit fraud with a chargeback, as chargebacks are for fraudulent charges against your account. You could instead contact SOE and see if they will credit you the balance of the discount.

True enough, except for the fact that they stopped taking alpha players when they introduced beta, making Trailblazer accounts exclusive, hence limited. I am certain the OP would have no issues had SOE kept the Trailblazer pack exclusive to those that purchased it before beta. By offering new Trailblazer packs, they totally performed a bait and switch, which is pretty crappy.

Pretty sure for all games sometime or another the price will decrease. You were still given what you paid for. The people buying now didnt have the months of time you spent in the game. Should they feel cheated because you bought it first? The battle chest for WoW right now is $20 max. It comes with the base game, Burning Crusades, Wrath of the Lich King, and Cataclysm. I dont see people complaining about how they had to buy each one separately. You had the choice to wait, you decided that you wouldnt and paid full price. That is on you, not the company. If it pisses you off so much just quit playing.
Things go on sale all the time. People pay full price for games just to have them go on sale the very next week.
Get over it.
Edited 'cause I misspelled a word. Don't want the spelling Nazi's after me.
Yes, but we're talking about closed alpha/beta here.
Some of you are missing the point entirely. We're talking about an unreleased product, that's still being tested and closed off to the public. Charging admission to preview the product, or test it, and to show loyalty, is what the Founder's pack was supposed to be about. Now that loyalty is broken, by allowing others to get in cheaper. It's a very bad decision.

They have updated the Founder's Pack page to reflect Beta, so I am unable to research the correct wording. They offered unlimited access to Alpha in their Trailblazer pack, but as alpha is over, that part of the pack is no longer offered. As such the value of the pack is somewhat diminished to those buying now. I still think they are keeping every promise they have made. I am not sure what people are upset about at all though. They got what they paid for at an agreed price. That price has changed, but so has the offering. I got a 2010 Mazda3 in 2009. I paid full price. Somone buying it in 2010 probably paid less.

I'm 34, you're the one who is acting like a member of the "entitled generation". Business etiquette 101? Please. You are paying for access to the alpha servers. It's your own fault for waiting 6 months to jump on the Alpha access train.
I suppose you're going to complain next about how "buggy" and "unfinished" the Alpha client was.
As said before, I am not playing Landmark, but will be buying Alpha access to EQN if it's offered. I'm at least going to read what I'm paying for before paying for it.

You're confusing mom and pop business practices, with huge corporate entities. Corporations are all about the bottom line, the only person they want to make happy is the person who hasn't paid yet. That's what these sales are all about.
What grounds are you filling your charge-back under by the way? There was no fraud on SOE's behalf, the product worked, they didn't leave anything out that was a part of the sale, so I'm curious as to what you'd say to justify it with your CC company?
I don't really know what is worse in this day and age, business practices or lack of taking responsibility as the consumer.

What the hell do you guys expect these days? These developers release games that are free to play. Do you even think about their costs?
They work hard to produce entertainment for you and you turn around and fuckin complain about everything. It's so disgusting.

Stop paying for beta. Stop paying for early access. Stop paying to test a game.
If you do any of these, you have absolutely nothing to complain about.

This ^^ Lol.
And now you know why a lot of people won't give SOE 10 cents over some of the BS they have pulled over the years.
Think SOE was really going to show any "loyalty" to early supporters/adopters? Ha!

I'm not bothered by the Steam 3 day sale
this wont make the Op feel better
Dexella recently posted what the "limited time" items were

There were four limited-time items. They were:
EQ2 fan sites
And what about that has changed? It could be limited to 2 million, still makes it limited. And if they don't offer them again once they stop offering them, the statement is still factual.
