Kinda liking it so far. Only level 11 (a gnats pube away from 12), and haven't got too into the nitty gritty of things, but I like it so far. Went in completely blind, zero expectations, and knowing next to nothing about the game adside from it supposedly being a crafters paradise.
Just got my first trade run (Solzreed to Memoria) so I'm working on getting the mats for that right now. Raising some chicks for the meat, had to grow barley so I could grind it into grain to feed them. Then I got to butcher them for meat, then I have to grow the grapevines for the grapes. Have the materials for my scarecrow farm, which I'll build after I butcher the chickens. EDIT: Or not. Says free players can't build a farm, guess that means founders for beta can only build them then.
It's starting to pick up a bit. Can't say I enjoy the regular questing system, but the combat isn't too shabby. I went Occultist+Witch+Vitalist for Necromancer class.
well i played about 20hours worth of this CB2 and all ive done is quest.... quest quest more quest, and yes im very bored of QUESTS!!!
the game isnt offering me anything else to do, i have no clue what i am doing (like everyone else) so i follow the story line, ive tried wondering off, but i find nothing, i got to lvl 25 and i think im done with the game,
seems like it cud be a fun game, but its bored me to death in the early stages and i bet the next 30lvl are all quest quest quest too,
thanks archeahe but no thanks

I am lvl10 Archer (with open Shadow).
I have followed the quest hubs so far but I am also gathering along the way. Have not yet figured out how to actually craft anything but I might as well work on that Sunday when I have more time.
I honestly expected more but I am only lvl10 so far.
I do see the concerns about Labor points. Just opening pouches which have money or identifying items costs Labor Points so it is double whammy for crafters I suppose. They have to make money though so I can't blame them for Cash Shopping it.
I have very much enjoyed the first couple of days of my 5 day beta very much, however with that said it as it currently stands it becomes obvious that unless you buy a monthly patron account you as an ftp player will be at an extreme disadvantage..
Love the game but i really hate trions greed first approach, with that said and after being robbed of my "illegal grapevines" will i sub to patron?
Very likely..
Playing GW2..
To be fair i have only been playing the early lvl's but so far i am struggling with the game, I can't seem to get into the game, so far the story and world seem bland.
I will continue to lvl up and see if this improves but for me at least it so far is a struggle to log in, rather than a world i want to explore I seem to be just led along from quest to quest, while i understand this is what 90% of mmo's do others seem to do a better job of trying to disguise this with a more open world.
I really hope that this changes as archeage was a game i was looking forward too.............
So I've been bashing this game a little of late for being yet another 'free' to play cash shop money grab... But that was before I actually played it.
I've only been at it a couple hours so far and I've barely scratched the surface but I can already tell this is exactly the game I've been looking for since I quit SWG...ten years ago !
So much attention to detail and realism, so many things to do, not a single loading screen or instance so far, players everywhere, AWESOMELY optimized GFX engine...bah, I could go on for hours.
Anyway I still hate cash shop MMOs with a vengeance so dunno if I'll play this in the end but thank god for them Koreans, at least some people still know WTF they're doing in this industry. GJ Jake Song and XL Games, keep up the good work.
PS: for the record, I didn't say I hated paying for my entertainment, I said I hated cash shop MMOs. For me the ideal MMO has a monthly sub and no cash shop whatsoever, ie: EVERYTHING in the game can be obtained through PLAYING, not visiting the cash shop and whipping out your CC 5 times a day. GOD I HATE CASH SHOPS !!!!!!!
Played for a whole ten minuets of the game and couldn't play anymore due to boredom. Uninstalled and went back to ESO.
Combat is the regular tab targeting system of WoW.
No npc voices.
two factions like WoW.
Same old kill XX creatures or collect XX number of items.
But the real crunch for me was when I got to the first cut scene and the narrator explained about my character wearing a uniform of a certain description, then went on saying she had never worn such a thing.
This is just a standard MMO from the East nothing special about it other than the boobies move.
Is it your extensive 10 minute experience with the game that made you jump to this conclusion?
Mind you my very first impression was 'meh' aswell but then I came back the next day and I went from 'meh' to 'omg this is frikkin awesome' fairly quickly.
Don't mean to condescend but given what you say in your post, I don't think this game is for you. I'd usually recommend to give it another go but in your case I doubt it would change much.
This is exactly what I have been told by my friends who bought into the game. They feel duped and pretty upset. They also echoed the fact that playing this game as a f2p player will likely make this game unplayable for them and many others.
Have you ever played an MMO? any, ANY MMO ever has questing, a MMO is about growing and leveling your char up, how are you going to do that without questin?, besides that all the questing has a meaning, it teaches you about the mechanics of the game, you want to play a game without questing? go play Angry Birds or Fifa 15... Archeage is an AWESOME game, one of the most beatifully created MMOs lately
