For two beautiful minutes I was a fighter pilot in space. Even though we were in a wide open hall with crepes being made not far away every one of my senses told me I was in space flying a fighter of some sort. There were enemies out there somewhere, two people who were in reality sitting just across from me were coming after me. But in the vastness of space did it really matter? With only 2 minutes did I want to spend my time in space hunting down the enemy or did I want to fly through debris and enjoy all the colors of space? I was playing EVE: Valkyrie. I was in space.

There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self. - Ernest Hemingway
When I read the title, the only thing I could think about was the Spacecore from Portal 2.
Glad EvE - Valkyre is looking interesting though. I'm somewhat intrigued.
Now you guys have VR to play with.
I find myself doing the latter almost every time I slap that headset on.
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.
When you think about it, display and input tech are two things that haven't evolved much since the inception of PCs.

I tried EVE once ye it was good but I got bored with all you do is mine.....Not for me
Then my friends said you should keep playin I said why....PvP is good and now I you can keep an eye on your skills your learning via phone while at work....oh I said get a life....So what are you doing now........Mining.....I rest my case.
I really dont see what this game is about real time skill learning 1 month to learn a skill etc etc
Well I hope this expansion gives this boring game some life I really dont think soo though.......Back to Mining lol
this should have been released a year ago and be part of eve universe
any player of eve should be really be looking at the space games coming out and if you dont think they will effect eve then we shall see but i suspect they will have a big effect on it
in a year time their might be 4 of of them
myself I did enjoy eve it was my first mmo and I loved it but I played it again recently and the PVE was exactly the same as it was before
these new space games may not be your cup of tea but they are some peoples and eve is certainly under a lot of pressure its the game people atm turn to to play a space mmo
will it be in a year ?
for me eve has already missed its chance
Lol, someone got excited "air machines that blast scented air at us".
Agreed that this has very little to do with Eve Online, save for the spaceships and pretty space colors.
It's very safe to say there won't be a single game reaching EvE's depth and mechanics, released in about a year from now.
The dog fighting space games that you await may have some extra fluff that but they won't be reaching EvE in it's massivenes for a few more years at least, and since EvE players don't really look as much after dog fighting as for everything else that EvE has it's also safe to say there won't be any mass exodus from EvE anytime soon.
But it's nice to dream.
I really wish to see CCP badly failing with this EVE Valkyrie and Oculus Rift.
This is what they deserve for the future due to the horrible betray to the unconditional fans when they axed World Of Darkness MMO after years of waiting, promises and lies.
CCP if you read this...go and sell now WOD franchise and then die.
If you were in EVE and out of hi-sec, I'm surprised you lasted 2 minutes, a bigger gankfest I have never seen. and forget being 'noob'
No.

Don't be surprised if you see Dust getting ported to PC after the exclusivity contract with Sony expires.
Valkyrie looks good on paper. but we need to see some new gameplay video of before we judge.
"Yeah me too, I am a PVP monster and I joined some game which my friends played, all they do is PVE so I joined them in PVE and it was so boring.
Yeah, that game was a dud, so bad all you could do is PVE.
PVP? havent tried that out."
"going into arguments with idiots is a lost cause, it requires you to stoop down to their level and you can't win"
Very gimmicky to me, I have tried it and disliked it... just saying.
You should try out euro truck simulator 2. I was a truck driver.
Sound boring? Not with the rift. It is incredible to actually peek out of the windows and see if it is safe to enter the road.
Live for speed: Lean out of the cockpit and watch the suspension of your formula car work (and drive off track because you forgot to look where you are going).
The rift will change everything. Games wont be as they used to be.
People who laugh at the rift have not tried it - simple as that.
I have DK1 and my DK2 has been shipped.
This is the only gaming peripheral I have bought since 1995.
