I just watched a video on this from the extra credits guys. I couldn't find the link. But the replies were really heated. But one thing stood out. Many people thought game companies should change the f2p title into a more truthful one. Like free to try.or something like that. What do you guys think?

Free to Play is magic , it bring players who ll spend money , a lot money
free to try ... blah ...avoid
I love these posts... because complaining about something that is free is ridiculous and yet, complain they do.
They complain for the sake of complaining. Nothing more, nothing less.
No!!!! Please no!!!
I think we had some guy on here already who wanted to introduce like 50 different acronyms, because MMORPG was simply to generalized. So what are we going to get? You show me a game that touts itself as a F2P game and CANNOT be played completely free, there are pretty much none out there. You can pay for conveniences, but they aren't telling you that you can no longer progress if you don't give them money.

Like MMORPG.com is some sort of gaming consortium... today we degree F2P to be forever referred to as FluffyButt, all in favor, say Aye! It's is done then. Anyone using a phrase other than FluffyButt will be expelled from the realm and flogged on the forums from this day forward.
F2P means you can play the game without paying a subscription. I don't see why we need a different acronym than that. It's Free to Play. No one ever said "Free to play while still on the same footing as the payers", nor is that implied anywhere in the words "Free To Play".
No need to complicate things by changing the acronym or coming up with new ones. This isn't rocket science here. Some F2P games have a more greedy cash shop while others don't, but then again, some games are GOOD and some games are BAD. That doesn't mean we need to come up with different GENRES just to differentiate good games from bad games, nor should we have to come up with different acronyms to differentiate greedy F2Ps from not-so-greedy ones.
F2T ("free to try") is really best just kept at "Free Trial" (a term that's existed before F2P did). Again, that one isn't rocket science. You get a very small portion of the game for free and that's that.
I've always felt that in a perfect world, free to play is a win for everyone.
Since they're giving it away, everyone gets to try your game. If your content is free, it would have to be some damned fine content in order to convince players to stick around and spend money. Good games for free that we can choose to spend money on? Hell yeah!
Sadly, the world is not perfect. Instead of entirely focusing on creating compelling content in which players more than happy to shell out a few bucks for that box full of hats...we're often met with sales tactics.
Nickle and dime strategies. Pay to avoid unreasonable inconvenience. Pay to save time. And the ultimate mmo forum shame, "Pay to win."
The factor that we do not always consider is that these strategies in which we are not fond of, absolutely work. We can shout up and down about how "They would make more money selling hats if they just didn't piss us off with this pay2win bullshit!" but we're wrong.
At the end of the day, creating a game which is dismissed by the community as "pay2win"...that still makes a profit is better than creating a game that stands up for player principles and eventually get's shut down.
I hate to say it, but all we can do is continue to complain. When there are more people complaining than paying, the strategies for accruing profit will change.
How do you know they are not smart enough?
May be they like f2p enough and don't want companies to alter their policies?
You don't like f2p does not mean that everyone else does not.
