Why did Destiny even bother having planets?

They add nothing to the gameplay, they're just dressing and at that point I don't get why they're there. They could have just fleshed out Earth more, it isn't like these planets couldn't even be locations on a post Apoc Earth. The first thing I want to do when I get on the moon is jump around due to the low gravity, but no Bungie couldn't be bothered with that. Venus should be a harsh very hot planet with no life, but it looks like it is set in a rain forest on Earth during Sunset or something. 

Each planet should do something different, should have different gameplay, but they all feel and the same and it is ultra boring. I know there is some lore that explains why they're all like Earth now, but to me that was just a cop out to explain away why Bungie isn't creative enough to change up the mechanics and have better level design. You are not changing the temp of Venus unless you move it further away from the sun or at least get rid of all the gases in the atmosphere, neither of which they done. You're not changing the Moons gravity unless you make it bigger, they haven't done that... just bullshit that is all it is. 

I don't even get a sense they're planets, they feel more like Guild Wars instances and it is super disappointing. I was expecting each planet to be like the size of Fallout 3 or something, have a chance to run around and explore, sadly there is no exploration. All I find myself doing is running through the same locations over and over, just mindlessly shooting enemies and defending computers that are being hacked. That voice actor, apparently he is amazing? I dunno why people think that, he gives the most flat performance I've heard in a so called "AAA game"...

Destiny is probably one of the most generic bland games I've played. It doesn't deserve the hype it got and it proves that money doesn't make a good game. I dunno how they have the cheek to charge for expansions, apparently they're coming later this year and will be set in the same locations? Just crazy, they should make this a F2P or something, already every single one of my friends has quite playing and will not be returning.
