LFG for Wifey

GrandpaDJGrandpaDJ Member UncommonPosts: 132

Tried playing Wildstar but the action combat wasn't to her liking. She has some free time and wants a game!

Likes:

Loved WoW for years but bored of that. So, probably no WoW-clones

Tab targeting is good

PvE focus (she doesn't PvP)

Cute toons and pets are a huge plus.

F2P or a trial would be easier than convincing her to pony up money for a game she has never tried.

Good community - she likes to be social for some reason.

Thanks!

no wow clone erases tens and tens of mmorpgs.

now here's what i have in mind taking the criteras you have listed into account:

-the lord of the rings online, can be tested for free, played for free, and you can pay for more stuff (unlock some classes, and such)

-guild wars 2, very casual friendly, social, big player base with a lot of guilds that are composed of only mature players. (this one might be her best choice). no testing though... you buy the game once and you're done forever.

-DC universe online, free to play with more options through a sub. this has unfortunately a rather young community. still fun, lots.

-allods online, it's a wow clone, totally, it's also pay to win so you will have to drop the bucks to be of any use. but the community is just fantastic, really, especially the high level community. this however does not cover the fact that it is PAY to WIN.

Yeah, I realize the 'no WOW clones' eliminates half the field. I played Allods shortly after it came out. Did they ever allow for the option to invert the y-axis of the mouse?

LOTRO for the community, the story and the environmental art.

I'd also recommend Rift since it has more pets, mounts, building/housing than LOTRO and also has a better F2P model, but it's much more of a WoW clone than LOTRO.

Even though I don't play it FFXIV ARR has one of the best communities I have ever seen(When I did play it) And the combat is slow and relaxing, but not so slow it's boring. Really good story and cute to boot! Other than that ESO is shaping up to be a really solid MMO. I would recommend that one as well

FFXIV is the only one I would recommend.
