FINALLY! After searching for some news about B&S, I've found this on a german magazine: Blade and Soul US/EU will be released in 2014 already!

The lack of hype for a big-budget project like this is interesting. It's like they don't care about marketing at all.

Hmmm, I wouldn't count on that too much until the word actually comes from an official NCSoft announcement.

I'm pretty sure it will be there when the game's actually coming out.

Wildstar got plenty of advertising, I don't see why they wouldn't do the same for one of their own big titles that's already live in their home region.

Theres no hype because its another themepark. People demand something new.

wow i think i was playing the asian version of this 2 years ago.. all the female characters have noodle legs its very strange.

Other than that its not very good the spell effects looks really nice tho.

Who cares about the hype of the masses... the game is already successful in its core market, so they probably recovered all development costs (and then some). If they can release a mildly successful English version in the West, they'll be fine.

I played the Chinese version, and loved the gameplay. Reaaaaaally hoping it arrives soon (before the graphics and systems become obsolete).

Well, the chief product officer of NCSoft kind of announced it. But yeah, I expect a big announcement to come.

Maybe NCsoft does not want to stack their own games on a short release window, if people were hyped for Blade & Soul they might skip Wildstar. But like stated before, until they release some official public info...

I wonder if he means before the end of 2015 when he says "before next year" If they're still working on the translation and such they can't really be thinking about launching this year.

I'll have to agree.  They are taking way too long, and all the interest that western players had is evaporated.  It would also be suicide to launch in 2014, since WoD is coming out in 2 months.

Likely they meant end of 2015, but if so BD will stomp them

Why? They could launch it in mid of December, one month after WoD. Moreover, it's going to be a free2play game, so I don't see a big problem here. People will try it nevertheless.

I'm willing to bet this is reported incorrectly.  But we'll see.  I reached out to NCsoft for confirmation.

Thanks Bill! I've seen the video as well. He clearly said "before next year". Would be interesting to know if he forgot to mention something else :D

Could be an error in translation. He's speaking Korean, after all.

Was wondering what was happening with B&S now that Wildstar has released. Thanks Bill.

There's nothing on the website.  So I'm skeptical.

probably a lot of people just got sick of waiting. At this point all i care about is the art style and character models just because its the same artist who designed the characters in the Magna Carta video games. After playing the Russian version with an english patch (and no lag) i just dont care about grinding generic quests in that game as well. The combat was great (wipes the floor with any action combat in any mmos out there). Not enough for me anymore tho....

Something i really dont like about the game is that even to step inside a house that even has the doors wide open there is a portal...... seriously.

You guys remember a time when the US was not a third world country?

I remember when game devs the world over designed for the US as the primary market, now we wait 2,3, even 5 years for a game to port to a US market.

Sad that these game studios have realized 3 billion chinamen all paying 10 cents for the sword of ultimate power, is more money that they get charging americans $20 for a healing potion.

I blame WoW... no serriously... look at the US market there is one MMO that makes more than ten times what its nearest rival makes whereas the Asian market is much broader.  Why spend a fortune trying to develop a WoW killer only to fail like everyone before you who has tried when you could grab a much larger chunk of the chinese/korea/russian/japanese market.  Look at games like Tera and L1 that aren't that popular (or even in for L1) the U.S. market and are making far more than any western game not named World of Warcraft.
