Translation progress?

CelusiosCelusios Member UncommonPosts: 337

The main thing that kept me out of this game after the first closed beta event was the lack of translation committed to the game. At the time it was understandable as the game was in a closed beta state. Now I see they have release the title a couple weeks ago and judging from some of the streams I've seen the game does still not have voice translation? You still have the same old NPC's lips moving without any vocals which looks silly.

Could someone clarify where they stand with that progress? Not looking to start a flame war either, please keep that out of here. There are already a plethora of good/bad arguments in other threads.

I think i've uninstalled it the moment when an npc first talked to me in English, then his next sentence was in korean.

That was in open beta, so i don't think they progressed much with it.

It's the auctioneer and the warehouse manager, they are a diffrent race. I guess they are supposed to sound like that since you can't talk to the other faction aswell. But i'm not sure. I mean if it is really a translation bug, then trion would already fix it, it's not a big job there.

The vendors still speak Korean. It's far from polished.

I would'nt get my hopes up with things like this.

Same with the graphical issues (sprint flickering and texture flickering in general, dx11 being unstable and so on)

Unless it's things that will affect Trion and XL's ability to make money I think this is as good as it gets.

    Playable but slightly flawed.

They won't translate vendors NPCs they said so in one of the many livestreams...get over it. It's such a minor thing that i don't even know why people complain about it.

I remember gw2's npcs repeating the same crap over and over everytime i talked to them. At least it's less annoying hearing it in another language.

Relax buddy. It's just slightly weird even taking on a Westernizing of a game then not even finishing the Westernization process. I'm not here to argue though, your opinion is your own. Some of us just would prefer to have the translation and not see NPC's speaking without anything coming out.

Everyone else that responded, thank you guys for your responses. I'm shocked to see some people shared my own interest in having translation... but like a man above said... with the amount of money they're making of people not interested in this, there is little reason for them to even have to do anything else.
