^This. The only reason they're even considering releasing this for consoles is because it sucked so bad on PC. Compared to the success of D2 this was a wimper. Now its time to milk this game for every dollar they can possibly muster.
So sick of people thinking just because it didn't get WoW sub numbers, it's a flop. Even 400-500k subs is healthy
same here, and its even funnier when they talk like their opinions are some sort of facts. lol. I personally think the $20 dollar upgrade for pc owners is a good deal. I hope they count people who bought the game at green man gaming, otherwise i will pass.
Considering Zenimax never gave any official sub numbers so everyone is giving their opinions here.

um "not this".
They considered releasing for consoles BEFORE the pc version was ever released.
Why would you compare ESO to D2? completely different games with different audiences.
D2 is about loot and dungeon running and upgrading loot. It's also a Blizzard product so there is a huge built in audience.
ESO is a "not well thought out" amalgem of an mmo, an elder scrolls game with a section that is trying to be DAoC.
Of course it's not going to have the same numbers as D2. Or any successful Blizzard product. That doesn't mean that their current numbers are "bad".
Having said that, I said, before the Secret World came out, that The secret World would get around 250k players. I said this because I felt the subject matter and the thrust of the game play wouldn't appeal to a huge amount of players. Funcom then said they had 300K players (or so) which I would have thought was amazing. They said it was a disappointment which meant that they clearly had no idea as to the type of interest their product would get.
Sooooo, it's very possible that Zenimax might not feel their current numbers are great even though I suspect that they are competitive among other mmo's other than wow.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."
ZOS can barely fix/patch/update the PC version. I doubt they will be able to maintain not 1, but 2 Console versions on top of that.

Keep the sub. The game is worth the sub, and it does help keep out many unsavory characters. Sure, there are always wingnuts that will troll (just like here), but I think it keeps the player base dedicated.
