"This chart shows what the next stage is for each ship in the pipeline. Note that this is not every ship in development; some which have yet to be revealed are not included! (And others, like the newly selected Wave 4 ships, have not yet entered the pipeline.)"

Certainly .... everything costs 30 $. In total. One time payment.

It's not very convincing when on one hand you give us a list about ships they want to create - and you know they will ask for big money for the ships.
On the other side you answer with something along the lines of: 'You don't need these ships'
Just buy them in game with in game money once the game is in the stores. No one forces you to buy them NOW. No one holds a gun to your head and screams BUY NOW OR ELSE .....

What he is getting at is that currently the game costs $30 to get and that all those ship can be earned within the game. You don't have to spend more than $30 to get any or all of those ships, so long as you are willing to work at getting them within the game. If you want to have one of those ships in your hanger on day one then sure, you will need to make a "donation".
It is also worth noting that no ships will be "sold" for real money after the game is released.
All die, so die well.
now comes the SPAM train ... wait for it ... wait for it ...

fixed it for you.
feel free to add missing ones.
you don´t "need" any ship now, you can get the 30$ pack, be done with it and wait until release, the ships will all be in the game and you can buy it with what you earn in the game.
Start with Aurora, ship a few crates, hunt some bounty.. half a week later you´ll probably can afford a 300i and sell the Aurora to a used ship dealer. Or you keep it for your collection.
Or you stick with it, because it´s so adorable, buy 10 more, build an Aurora fleet and conquer the universe with it.
Also note that ALL ships will be available in-game post release using in-game credits.
yes, I know it ; https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/uec
Hmm .. a buggy costs 15.000 UEC. You are limited to 150.000 UEC.
A ship costs how much more than a golfcart buggy ... what do you think ?

Found an interesting bit of information in the newest Jumppoint magazine ... on naming ships in Star Citizen:
"...Ben Lesnick, Senior Community Manager: Here’s a
quick pitch for how we could work ship names:
We’ve already introduced Roberts Space Industries, so
I’m thinking ships should work like real life car and aircraft
manufacturers: we have maybe half a dozen different
companies and each one has its own line of spacecraft
that are stylistically similar ... and each has their
own particular way of naming the ships. We’ll ultimately
encourage players to debate which company makes the
best ships/encourage ‘brand loyalty’ where they stick
with the a particular corporation’s designs.
I can also imagine ships working like cars/phones/etc. in
that we can roll out new iterations each year. So you’re
going to need to keep earning money (or buying credits)
if you want to upgrade to the 2013 Aurora when Chairman
Roberts announces it ...
Roberts Space Industries ships are kind of the baseline
“exploration” spacecraft. The names all have an awe-ofspace
bent: “Aurora,” “Galaxy,” “Constellation,” “Nova,”
“Nebula” etc.
Origin Jumpworks GmbH is the BWM of our universe;
craft are more expensive and sleeker looking... status
symbols, maybe moreso than they’re worth? They get
numbers instead of names: “Origin 300i,” “Origin 890
Jump,” “Origin M50 Turbo,” etc.
Musashi Industrial and Starflight Concern (MISC) mass
produces very efficient, modular middle-of-the-road
ships, mostly transports of different sizes. They’re favored
by traders and larger corporations. Their names
are sort of calculated-friendly/inoffensive (think the
Drayman in Wing Commander/Privateer): “Hauler,” “Explorer,”
“Longhorn” and so on.
Drake Interplanetary is ostensibly a legitimate company,
but it’s an open secret that they manufacture cheap, well
armed craft favored by pirates, to the point that they’re
named in that vein: “Cutlass,” “Buccaneer,” “Privateer,”
“Bandit,” “Marauder,” etc.
Anvil Aerospace produces more pure dogfighters, but
with less of the pirate stigma. These ships are more expensive,
less spit-and-glue. Possible name theme: “Hurricane,”
“Typhoon,” “Cyclone.”
As in real life, the military uses these same manufacturers
but gives their craft their own more war-like names. I’m
thinking Roman-inspired stuff here: “Phalanx,” “Gladius,”
“Javelin,” “Ballista,” “Centurion.” Instead of borrowing
the standard “{Class}-{Number}” (i.e., F-16, B-2, etc.) for
the designation that everyone uses, let’s steal the United
States Navy system from World War II to play up the
manufacturing aspect... so players will know that the “F4R
Phalanx” was produced for the military by Roberts Industries.
... and then for alien fighters, I’d like to see us use a variation
of the NATO reporting system (or the allied system
for Japanese aircraft in World War II) where we have
categorized code names instead of meaningless alien
terms. (It always bugged me that Confed pilots were talking
about “Drakhri” in Wing Commander II, because what
does that word mean? So give them alien names in the
fiction, but also a system like real life where they all have
simple code words.)"
Thats half a page in a 52 page monthy Jumppoint magazine. Good read IMHO.

Redeemer $350-$450 range
I want one, I want one, I want one so so so... etc... badly.
The explanation for that is simple.
When I log into mmorpg.com I often take a look at the "Newest Forum Posts" section ... and when i immediately see in the title which game this post belongs to, i find it easier to read than looking a which forum subsection this post belongs to. A personal preference I developed in my 10 years on this forum, which i started to use more and more.
Helps me also to see in my "Recently Visited Threads" what game a post belongs to (e.g. SWTOR, EVE, SC etc.)

True, Buying now is to support the game development and its up to you if you do it or not.
Nope, you can't get the Scythe with insurance in game, could only get it with cash. The Idris will be in limited numbers taht will be auctioned each month, so not everyone will be able to get that either.
He said "all ships will be available", not "all ships will be available with insurance". Everything he said is entirely true. You're the one with incorrect information. They've already hinted that there will be blackmarket insurance dealers in the fringes of space that might be willing to insurance alien craft.
And the Idris is only limited in pledges. You can buy one in game with ingame credits just like any other ship.
I don´t get why people keep riding on the ship insurance topic all the time.
On the other hand, it´s good that people somehow overestimate the value of LTI, pledging more which is good for the budget.
It´s just a little ingame credit saver, a minor perk which usually gets blown way out of proportion by some posters.
It has been said so many times by CIG, at all possible occasions, that the Standard ship insurance will be cheap, part of usual expenses like fuel, docking cost, and hangar rent, and you´ll buy all this from your credit income as a trader, bounty hunter, mercenary,.. and standard insurance SHI will cover exactly the same as LTI.
Right now in Arena Commander pre-alpha SHI or LTI doesn´t count either as you can´t lose your ship as there is not even any ship insurance mechanic implemented yet.
So what on earth is this fuzz about LTI, I just don´t get it.
I guess especially those PvP players coming from EVE Online that lose 4-6 ships per evening in dogfights are very much interested in the Lifetime Insurance.
IMHO what they forget is the "Death of a Spaceman" permadeath in SC. They may get back their ship 6 times per day for free .... but within a week their pilots are more metal than Terminator and/or blowing through the third generation of hereditary pilots.

Well, that solves the problem of "name changes" for your character if you want to hide your dubious past deeds !
Hopefully you can save a character template and just "clone" your benificiary's appearance, otherwise it could become tedious recreating your character every few days...
And obviously each new character will have to have a new name, because the name of the character that died remains in the "history" of the game ?
"Release": 2017/18.
Which does not make a lot of sense to do it now. Big risk of disappointment due a long wait. Even worst when they start to look into it, to notice the cash grab party.
It sounds better to keep away and wait for the release. The side effects of that are more positive for both the game, the company and for the customers.
It's a tiny niche. It's a big risk to screw with people along the road, mainly because it's expected that they won't have unconditional love for Mr. Roberts to accept their excuses, that let's be fair, are just for the ears of his fans.
"Big risk" = worth approx. two 3D movie tickets (= 30 $)
I warn ye, do not take that "big risk" blindly !

Added Javelin destroyer to the list.
