Where to get a cheap laptop?

Anyone have any ideas? I just need something to be able to use for school. Want something that maybe was new 6 months ago, under $1000. Let me know if you have any ideas..... Thanks

i suggest ANY place aournd you for that matter....

or even dell or gateway, their laps are not bad..

but HA if u lived here in Florida you could get a nice one from cheapguys.com lol i live like 4 miles form em

I was looking to spend less than the $1000 maybe $600 or $700. I have looked at the major chain stores and Dell online and have found new for $799 or so. But after you add the warranty and tax your lookin at $1100 or more. Im lookin to go no more than $900 in total. Im thinking my best bet would be to buy an old one from someone I know.

I've found pretty good deals with Dell in general. They hold up pretty well for the price too. I don't suggest going the Viao route... had some issues with the one i had and ended up selling it and getting a dell.

some of those desktops are good deals, the laptops are terrible deals though. 700 mhx, windows 98, 256 ram, over 1000. crazy, id go with dell, or gateway maybe.
