I played around release time and really enjoyed the world, it seemed pretty perfect for a RPers
The thing that put me off was the lack of chat bubbles, I would gladly return if they have been added. Have they been? Or are we still waiting for them?

Actually I think there was chatbupples in an early version of SWTOR before it launced. Apparently the chatbupples gave big problems with lag. Something engine related anyways and it was cut before launch of the game.
In the early days of SWTOR many was asking for chatbupples, but for all I know the idea has been more or less abandoned. However i also thought housing would never happen other than our ship, so you never know.
Chat bubbles were in beta and the game was lagging hard. A tech disabled the chat bubbles and the lag was solved (sort of...)
I can get a bit more technical on the topic though. As it was said before chat bubbles were a huge performance hit on the game when we had initially implemented them in beta. We're talking upwards of 400Mbs of video memory used on chat bubbles alone. Nameplates had the same issue. We fixed nameplates but have not had time to do the same with chat bubbles. If you played in beta and saw our initial implementation of them they weren't very pretty or as fully featured as we'd like them to be. So, yes, we would like to implement them again, but when we do we want to do it right.
