Originally posted by magnusnet ESO doesn't deserve to win. Totally biased voting. I can't believe that a game that has bled subs, that has less than 200k players, that sucked so hard that it's rebooting on january can beat LOTRO. People voting for ESO prolly haven't played the game :-/
ESO 200k lolol kinda hard to make 111 million in 6 months with 200k people. To put it in perspective TSW sold just shy of 250k at launch and they made around 15 million.
Voted for TSW, of course! Saying how much I love that game is redundant if you ever looked at my stream or my TSW forum posts. It's an amazing game with a depth of story and atmosphere I haven't found anywhere else. It's also got a really amazing community that keeps coming back to its base of good spirit and support.
Also did something I thought I might not. I voted for ESO. A very few ESO people said some really awful and untrue things about TSW and its community. It's hard to watch people who you interact with every day being insulted that way, and it's hard not to get defensive. That was a -very- few ESO people, though. It's still clear that their community loves their game as much as we love TSW, and so I gave them a vote. That's the spirit I want to see in communities, so it's the spirit I will demonstrate.
Let's let how much we love the games we play be the focus of this. Gamers are allies, no matter what games we play!
What do these accounts have in common? All created recently and all voting for ESO........ESO fans seem desperate.

I have been a member of this site longer than you TalulaRose and I am an ESO subscriber and of course I voted for ESO. Nice try
I had a hard time deciding between EvE and TSW since I have played neither. I went with TSW since it's a game I might actually try some day.
My two favourite MMOs of this moment in the final, with 7 years under its belt and so many good memmories however i can not do anything else but vote for LOTRO..
but if ESO does as it promisses, that might change over the upcomming few months
Best MMO experiences : EQ(PvE), DAoC(PvP), WoW(total package) LOTRO (worldfeel) GW2 (Artstyle and animations and worlddesign) SWTOR (Story immersion) TSW (story) ESO (character advancement)
I have a lifetime sub to Lotro but I am currently playing ESO and so I voted that way. Usually I would vote for Lotro, but I'm seeing the developers of ESO doing great things and changing the game, not letting it mire in what "they" think it should be no matter what the community says.
I voted for TSW too here, but only because Eve pisses me off to no end. Great game IDEA and lore and atmosphere, but actual gameplay is HORRIBLE. TSW has everything great except COMBAT and unlike ESO and Lotro above, who both changed or are about to change their combat to appease their players, TSW seems to be stuck in that "we know better than you" mode and won't budge. Really wish they would because then I would sub to the game the way I'm subbed to ESO right now and would be all about new content. But combat alone is so boring and tedious and just doesn't feel right and literally pushes me away from the game.
So anyway, for ESO comes out on top over all and that's a big change from my attitude toward it during it's first 3 months of launch. Really enjoying the game now and can't wait for the changes and additional content coming our way in the next year.
Glad to hear you are enjoying the game!!! What are the devs doing that are interesting to you? Also, what aspects of the game do you enjoy the most? I am considering getting the game...soon...

Good games in the finals. Makes me excited to see these games having large and passionate fan bases. I have played them all, but will be going back again to see how they have improved lately to deserve such dedicated fans. Already playing eso, going to uninstall swtor to reinstall tsw and lotro shortly. Eve i played most recently, will check that out after.
voted for ESO and TSW, although I like Lotro, ESO is like an updated version of Lotro with better features and smoother play. TSW has great quests interesting story line, I do not like space games so TSW was an easy victor over EVE
I also voted for TSW because, to my pleasant surprise (and to my shame for not expecting it!), a number of TSW people congratulated us on victory in semis, therefore showing some class. You guys deserve to win this round!

Well, we've got changes to the endgame coming in 1.6 as well as major changes across all classes in order to get away from cookie cutter builds and useless skills, so that's always a good idea. We've got the Justice system coming adding a much needed single player Elder Scrolls feature, where your "immoral" actions have consequences, so that makes choices like stealing and what not actually have meaning. On top of more zones, dungeons etc. which is always good to get as a paying customer each month, unlike other "big" games out there who charge a monthly fee and don't give such content out at all or take a year to do it, ahem, lol.
For me, I enjoy the combat, the exploration, the whole, pick a direction and just go aspect and content is literally in every direction, tons of meaningful quests, some with twists I didn't see coming, interesting economy/crafting, for me, I enjoy the art and graphics as well as armor designs.
I guess my only real issue with ESO anymore, is the lack of a larger soundtrack and variety of music. What's there is good but get's very old. For me, each zone should have it's own music and subzones(areas in zones, like dungeons, forests, lakes, etc.) should have different music as well. This is one thing WoW does right that crushes every MMO out there. So...that's pretty good in my book for an MMO to have only one little con like that.
I also enjoy doing the solo stuff while leveling and then wrapping up the group stuff all at once per zone in a guild group. Had a blast doing that the other night with some guildies. On top of knowing that I have a TON of lore books to find in all zones, Skyshards, and skill points to make my character "my own" even after hitting the level cap. Add to that achievements...just so much content to tackle and I'm taking my time and enjoying it all.

You mean the game that could...have been decent, yes, it definitely could have been. But it isn't.
Combat is terribly clunky and that's what you do for the vast majority of the game, performance is very bad, and those are just the two most obvious flaws.
You know what they say about opinions.
Strange how nobody gave a damn about TSW for the last year. Its an okish MMO, great writing, reasonable graphics but everything else is average to drab. If it was amazing then everyone would be playing it - its free to play.
Funny you should say that:
MMORPG - Top Voted Game = TSW 8.59
MMORPG - Most Popular Games = Week #8, Month #10, 6 Months #10, Year not in top 10
While it is not the most played (needs more content) people have always liked it.
Neither LotRO nor ESO has any business being in any year-end award finals for MMOs. In the end, I wasn't really voting as much for LotRO as I was against ESO, which is only here because it's still in flavor of the month status due to its recent release.
Eve vs TSW is a much more interesting matchup, all thing considered. Do I vote for Eve Online, which encompasses everything a MMORPG should be (and nobody else seems to get), or do I vote for TSW, which has the best writing and setting in the genre? It'll be interesting to see who wins that competition, though my bet is on TSW, since they seem to have been angling for it, while the Eve folks seem to be very ambivalent about voting for this sort of thing (though it has much popular here on MMORPG.com).

Yep, I've been reading MMORPG for a bit but only had a reason to register once I saw ESO on the roster and decided to vote for it. I like the game and it only makes sense that I'd like to support it.
Not sure how any of this can be classified as desperate. I'm not even sure how such a strong word as "desperate" can be used when talking about video games. We are not making money or saving lives, we are discussing entertainment products.
Love ESO and LOTRO but ESO hands down just for the world they created but it only beats out LOTRO by a small pct to me. So overall they are both winners.
I have a lifetime sub to LOTrO and also play ESO. I find that I connect more with my characters in LOTRO so that got my vote. Glad they are 1 and 2 though as both are top games ??

Sorry to disappoint, but I only have this one account.
When seeing the previous semi-finals poll, of course I finally made an account to support my favourite mmo's.
I'm also telling other fans of the games in the finals, to go vote for their favourite, and make an account if they don't have one : D
In regards to ESO having an announcement on its login page about the semi-final poll, yup, I saw it there aswell ; )

Voted for ESO because it deserves my vote. Quit playing LoTRO because it no longer deserved my free time.
After LoTRO went f2p/cash shop p2w I stuck with it in subscription mode for well over a year. Saw the game through Isengard which I really did enjoy. The steeds were a nice addition and warbands was also a good thing to add to the game.
But, f2p is like cancer...slowly it rotted out LoTRO from the inside out. Took me a while to leave, I had to find a home first.

I voted for ESO and TSW.
ESO is the game that I'm playing now, and I love it.
TSW is the game that I intend to play in the future, I hope
As for LotRO and EVE... if circumstances were different, I'd probably have voted for them.
Good luck to all parties involved
you can't embed a vid directly. Link like you have there is the way to do it.
Looks like ESO already won, nice

My vote for ESO is a vote for ESO.
Voted TSW for bronze.
