Give Magicka a try.  The combat is different from the norm which makes it interesting.

“There are certain queer times and occasions in this strange mixed affair we call life when a man takes this whole universe for a vast practical joke, though the wit thereof he but dimly discerns, and more than suspects that the joke is at nobody's expense but his own.”

I was hoping Dragon Age multiplayer would be THAT game but sadly its not

warframe has a mmo viewpoint, but the mechanics is much more 3rd person action than MMO. There are the reverse though (i.e. mmo with diablo viewpoint & mechanics) ... the upcoming lost ark and lineage eternal, which i definitely will check out.

correct, I play WoW exclusively as a lobby game, I meant to note that in my first post.

There's this whole world of interaction, totally forsaken because someone doesn't care to take the time to socialize and get connected, and that activity to me is one of the better nuances of an mmorpg. So it seems this group of people are actually neutering a fantastic aspect of the genre to an anti-social simplicity of practicality. Their laziness or incapacity, combined with their vocal derision, hold the success of a game hostage, to boil it down to instant action and reward gratuity without the initially intended effort.

don't forget those of us who are neither incompetent or lazy, but simply were never gripped by the lore or world. It was the combat that got me, nothing more. I need no human interaction to enjoy the combat.

I would also object that it wasn't our vocal derision, but the tastes of the crowd that so degraded the genre.

wow is a form of MMO coop in my book, not quite a lobby game, not quite a mmorpg.

Proof of the pudding, if the majority of the first class gameplay elements are either in solo instances, group instances or queues for these then it's firmly in the coop/lobby camp - its fairly self describing.

    rpg/mmorg history: Dun Darach>Bloodwych>Bards Tale 1-3>Eye of the beholder > Might and Magic 2,3,5 > FFVII> Baldur's Gate 1, 2 > Planescape Torment >Morrowind > WOW > oblivion > LOTR > Guild Wars (1900hrs elementalist) Vanguard. > GW2(1000 elementalist), Wildstar

Now playing GW2, AOW 3, ESO, LOTR, Elite D

    only by your definition.

By massively.com, mmofront, mmorpg.com, and quite a few reviewers, many lobby games (like world of tank) are MMOs.

And since i am asking the question, and i like games like that, i will use the broad definition of MMO in this discussion. You do not have to use it.

But look, people have already have a discussion about warframe.

Back to the discussion ... is there any upcoming MMOs that is like warframe?

LOL ok man. COD is a Real Time Strategy game, Mario Galaxy is a MilSim and Dark Souls is an MMO.  I mean, who needs labels, amirite? Let's just call everything a game and forget all these genres and monikers and their definitions!

I guess also Movies and TV shows are also games now since IGN (Imagine Games Network) covers them.

It boils down to the old arguement about instance size, is 200k people playing the same game concurrently but in instances of 5 massive?

No. Millions play COD concurrently and their instances are up to 18 players. Not an MMO.

While definitions change, inherent things will always be part and parcel.  That's why we have terms like MOBA, because MOBAs =/= MMOs.

I suppose you did not catch the "common usage part". Mario Galaxy is not a MMO by common usage. If massively.com, mmofront, mmorpg.com, and quite a few reviewers agree .. i will use that definition. Pretty easy, I would say.
