Are there any game companies that don't lie? I mean Bioware lied through their teeth with Mass Effect 3 and SWTOR big time, but yet i'll probably get DAI at some point off steam. (I won't pay full price or go anywhere near origins, but the game has received good reviews and the glaring PC bugs should be cleared up by that time)
Sometimes, so I picked banana. I assumed you had a stroke and put that on the poll by accident.
I'm a little pressed for critical thinking when it comes to picking games. I have other things to worry about in my life. However, I won't spend another cent on any Trion title, I can tell you that much.
I buy a lot of products from companies that are dishonest. If you ever desire to eat, wear clothing, drink, or see a movie it's something you pretty much get used to doing. Why should gaming me any different?
Example: I've never seen a commercial for a movie saying "Hey, this is shit but.. we made it already, so help us break even so we can make another one that's hopefully not as bad. Thanks."
so when reading these forums, so often you read someone make up things companies have promised, and beside you will have a very hard time finding any company that doesnt at minimum color a very pink picture of their products, and alot still buy them, even if there is cheaper and sometimes better alternatives.

Look at EA, never hurt to lie, and still selling mass amount of games to people that can't resist and want it now, when they see something like a pretty candy.
Even way if companies that lie to me, a few of them did, time and time again, just overtime I may still play there game but may not support them much why I'm trying find a new game that less greedy then other but still enjoy it just to play and avoiding there traps.
I know that every company lies, but till the moment im personally disappointed from them i stay and play.there are only 2 big companys that ill never buy a game from again(even if they release the best thing ever),but i wont troll with names.Btw the worst thing is the F2P model (honest opinion) !
If I never brought a product from a company that would lie, then I would starve. I really do not care about companies. I care about the products I use. However it would make me more sceptical. I would not pre-order from a company that has proven they can not be trusted.
- don't kick-start or buy early access for anything, unless you are willing to throw that money away
- never buy something unless you can try it first
- never buy a game until it has officially released
- read enough reviews, or try the game yourself, enough to know if you are going to like it
- never ask for a refund.
Forget what marketing says, try the actual game before you buy it. So what if they are lying through their teeth; don't listen to what they say, look at their actual product.
If you buy a product based on what the salesman says, or what their future roadmap says, be prepared to be disappointed.

If you've ever bought a game, then the answer is yes.
So many yes-suckers?

So you don't play any games?
Define "lie"...
Can you use it in a sentence?
Sometimes, so I picked banana. I assumed you had a stroke and put that on the poll by accident.

All companies lie and mindscrew you in order to trick you to buy their products, that's capitalism for you

I believe that everyone lies at some point or more directly, I don't think there are many adults who have never lied.

I think there are a lot more serious examples of buying things from companies with poor morality than game companies.
Do you buy clothes or mobile phones from companies that use child labour in the third world?
They're just games.

P.S. I voted NO ^^
Just research games before you buy ... or play the demo, free version ...
If a game is fun .. it really does not matter to me if the company is a saint or a lying devil.
All of them lie and i don't care if they do it as long as the product is worth buying.
The thing that changed over the last 20 years is that i no longer trust companies advertising their products or press-reviews.
A few simple rules can help:
- never pre-order anything
- don't kick-start or buy early access for anything, unless you are willing to throw that money away
- never buy something unless you can try it first
- never buy a game until it has officially released
- read enough reviews, or try the game yourself, enough to know if you are going to like it
