well another wow killer bits the dust? is there no other mmorpg that can challenge wow subscriptions?
looks like its 2015 and still nothing challenges 10 million active wow subs kind of sad really.
they never claimed it to be a WoW killer. besides There are other games on sub base that are much older, so if anything WoW is not alone. AND most like WoW due to the simplistic game play. It is easy to play and do well but for those who devote a lot of time find a new level of mastery. Where eso is not as simple, you don't just hit buttons 1-9 and call it done (don't tell me that is not how people play wow because i have seen it many times first hand) ESO requires a lot of thinking hell even lower level mobs can kick me if I'm not thinking or over estimate myself lol. Now am i saying wow or eso is better no, different gameplay for different people. i personally like ESO over WoW but that is because WoW has gotten to the point of handing you everything on a silver platter. INCLUDING lvls if your willing to pay.

i rememebr skyrim has 17 million players that purchased skyrim where did those players go?
elder scroll is the biggest ip. just where did those 17 million skyrim players go?
in fact the total purchases on the elder scrolls ip alone is 30 million worldwide. skyrim sold more then those older elder scrolls titles alone. where did those millions of players go????
Because they don't play mmo's or mmo's are not that big on their agenda.
I waited in line twice for over 2 hours (2.5 hours one day) at PAX east and engaged the people around me in conversation. When talking about mmo's most of them didn't really know much about them other than WoW and some SWToR.
It reminds me of a time when a friend of mine wanted to see this movie on the Beatles. He insisted that we get there early only to arrive, get our seats and after looking around he said "where is everyone?"
Now, there was a lot of interest at those PAX events but I suspect that a good amount of those people might have been more interested in an online "skyrim, Oblvion, Morrowind" experience than "the mmo of elder scrolls".

No there isn't. And the sooner the market realizes, the better we'll be. I'm happy to see a high profile game adopt the b2p model like TSW and GW2, hopefully it'll ebb the wave of f2p while making up for games' inability to sustain a subscription.
As to the WoW killer label, that's rubbish. I have active subs for WoW and ESO, and WoW and WIldstar previously. One game's sucess doesn't dictate another game's failure.
