WTF? No kickstarter... no announcement of paid alpha? What gives?

There's still plenty of time for all that
Although this could be something I'd actually be willing to "support."
I bought EA for Landmark and will do the same for H1Z1 eventually and EQN if they offer it, but SOE doesn't need my support really.
Looking at Star Citizen, the unique snowflake that it is, it is possible for a game to be funded at least partially by the fans. Pantheon was another "say all the right things" game, but what and how they delivered was terrible. In one article and a few forum posts, Crowfall looks more polished and promising then months worth of info from Pantheon and even Camelot Unchained which is more Crowfall like. To be fair, it probably is a bit easier to put together a few pretty concept art pieces and even early UI/models then show of early in-game footage like the other two games.
With that said, as indie studios are able to find funding apparently, I'm assuming with the team behind Crowfall, they shouldn't have to work too hard to get the cash flowing from real backers.

Indeed they're doing everything wrong, the game's doomed to be a success.
Ah, I see what Iselin did there.

Could see the screens without signing up yesterday. I see we need an account now.
All kidding aside it's a development process I'll be watching with interest.
The character creation screen already looks interesting with tidbits like "30 Creation Points" and "Hunger Resistance" under stats.

Very curious to know what that entails and looks like the pane scrolls down a ways further so stats might get very interesting.
Which mmos are those? I must of completely missed them.
Most of the discussions on this site are pretty pointless, but it is something to do. Assuming that if one of them gets married, he probably still needs a job to pay off all the expenses
Is there a reason you're trying to mute discussion of this studio and what they may possibly do? Or are you just trolling?

What they are trying to do is raise cash at this point.
Until we see what they are doing with that cash, it is all just smoke and mirrors. Come back in two years and see what they are promising then.

I'm just following the topic of the thread.
Great post, at least I got a chuckle this morning before the office shreds my brain.
I'm really just hoping for an "almost" Shadowbane game with decent coding/engine this time around and a good crafting system. I may not get my wish, and believe it or not, I typically despise pure PVP games, but Shadowbane was the one of the games that's always is up there in my favorite games I ever played.
That's what the countdown on the front page is probably for.
It is amazing to see how quickly the jaded folks a round here can get so hyped up about this game. Drop the right buzzwords and you are all dropping your panties for this game. What happened to the let's be better consumers about mmorpgs? You guys are too easy.

Plenty of people on this forum would not be suspicious.
I am, been burnt before, will wait until mmos release before jumping into them.
I will watch this game, but I will not let myself fall into the hype.
I created an account, and what you learn from doing so is that quite a few of their FAQs read like a copy-n-paste from the Camelot Unchained playbook. I will not go into detail here as you can easily sign up for yourself.
As a big fan of CU, I find this very fascinating and look forward to their future announcements.
Pretty much.
what was that?
