Moving chars back and forth between platforms?

I know they are talking about pc owners being able to buy the game at a discount price, and transfer your PC toon to your console of choice.

 

Theres no cross play, and you can transfer your PC char to a console of your choice...

 

Can you move freely between platforms or is it a one time only?

 

I actually want to play it on my Xbox, but I just know that these games have more players on PC in the long run (etc Diablo III is dead on console).

    A one time only copy of your whole PC account. Then no cross play. Totally separate.

     

    And the $20 offer is only for players who bought and registered PC/Mac before June 30th, 2014.

    I registered the game in april, so I'm good to go.

     

    But when its a one time transfer... Damn, way to split up the community.

    My main is the leader of a 200+ strong guild, so I am most likely going to keep my PC account on the PC, and then have a seperate account (with a new character) on my XBOX one. Hopefully the XBOX ONE Australian Servers will help with any potential lag.

    Even if you plan to play a new character on the console, the copy will give you a nice head-start on the console since your bank and all items also transfer.

     

    You could "rough it" if you want and start 100% clean but I won't. I'll do the transfer to the PS4, maybe keep the copy of my main, and harvest everything else. Then I'll start a new character with all the mats and gold in my bank.

    Can I "copy" my character from PC to XO so I keep both? Or will it be a move instead of a copy?

     

    My biggest concern is, that games like these doesnt last long on consoles, especially not without cross gaming like Final Fantasy between PC and PS4.
