At last someone who understands where I'm going with this, thank you kind soul! hehehe!! I am the first to admit when I make a mistake! Honestly, I do not care about the result anymore, I will go try MH and see what it's all about, I'm a little skeptic as I feel that it's just a mindless action game (personal opinion based on gameplay videos I saw), but I will give it a try for a few hours to see if it got more depth as you progress.
It will depend on what you mean by "depth". The gameplay itself is not all that deep (but very fun IMO.) There is definitely enough tactics that I keep entertained. Much like Diablo 2, the depth comes from the wide variety of different heroes, and the number of things you can do to improve each hero. There are things my raid hero can do easily now that a fresh 60 could not even consider.
I loved Diablo 2 and love this game as well for similar reasons.
If you are only going to give it a few more hours, try playing Storm. She's not as deep as many heroes, but gets strong pretty fast. There are other heroes that take a long time to become as enjoyable as they eventually turn out to be

It is very easy to see who has actually played the game, and who hasn't. Yet another person making rash (and untrue) statements about a game they haven't played. It's sad really

Actually played it today, I'm lvl 14 now and am playing Black Panther, I like the mechanics of Black Panther, but man this game is easy for now, I one shot all regular mobs with my AOE, and bosses are a joke, I do see what you mean by not depth, it is what I thought it is, a mindless action game, but this is not necessarily bad, sometimes it is fun to get into the game and not have to over think things. The game is ok and enjoyable, but it is not amazing, I see myself playing it casually as I am more of an RPG kind of guy.
Like all MMO's the real game starts at max level. You'll be gaining Omega Points while you level, (little blue orbs you should see your first at about level 30) those really don't get interesting until you have about 500 and can start buying combinations of interesting things.
You can not even judge MH based on the starter heroes. A few of them are decent but one you really can not judge them off them, even more so once you get them to 60. I main Gambit and I really love playing him. I have every hero at 60 at least once all the way through and many I have prestige levelled at least once. It is not till you really learn a hero you can begin to understand the options open to them. You get your cookie cutter builds, but you have to find something that appeals to you that you understand the complexity of the build options when you can open up the omega system to a higher degree, This is what makes the game interesting.
I play daily. I have a great group of players to bounce ideas around with. I have fun on the forums and there is no need for trolling because we, as a group, in the main part, are a really, really good community. I am more then happy to help out new players, as are many others are. The reason we vote is because we actually want the game to grow, but not to the point where the community suffers due to ass hats. The Dev team are a main part of what makes the whole thing work as well as it does.

Yeah, it's because the community are using the Forums to get people to vote on this website. Whereas ESO is continually working to improve the game and preparing for it's largest update yet as well as the console release. So let them be happy with their little reward that think they'll get recognition for whilst ESO begins the next checkpoint of it's journey to success.
Don't get me wrong, MH has been improving decently from what I've seen, but deep down we know ESO has turned it's launch around and is going to thrive throughout 2015. The new 1.6 update on PTS speaks for itself on this. Besides... We won the MMO Face-Off of 2014 which was the main reward over the past year. Let MH care about this award, whilst we care about the ESO game.
Peace.
Any "community" that loves the game they are playing could do the same. The simple fact that the others aren't only proves that MH deserves to win this. Trying to write off "the community is using the official forums to gain votes" as an excuse for your game losing is such an amazingly ignorant excuse it boggles the mind..

Well said Cind!
It's just incredible how much Marvel Heroes has changed and improved since launch. Definitely deserves the Best Overall tag so far as MMOs go!
To everyone else, if you haven't given it a try do it! It's free after all! You might be pleasantly surprised at how much its changed.

ESO was such a massive disappointment to me, and expecting a sub as well was just too much.
Marvel Heroes, on the other hand, has never asked for anything. You don't have to pay a cent to access any of the content (including characters), new content is added every month, and the devs are among the most community interactive and dedicated that I've seen yet.
It's a no brainer for my vote - Make Mine Marvel Heroes!
For mmo's it would be relevant to also see the budget to develop their game.
eso, gw2 and sector being the largest. Just a matter of perspective. Also the total amount if possible to current date with the amount of content.
that would be an interesting comparison.
too bad gw2 is not something I enjoyed because their development team is good. Just the content is not something I was fond of such as dynamic events just being public quests

If I could change one thing about the game, I would make it harder at early levels. Like you, I thought the game was too easy when I started, and In fact, almost quit. Doom and Loki disabused me of that notion, though.
Once you get to 20, try running the Red Terminals and one-shots and see if they satisfy your desire for challenge. :P

I was just reading a thread in the ESO forums about whether it's OK to call your character a "toon" as some do. In the case of MH, they're definitely toons you play. In ESO they're characters... basic difference between a real MMORPG and a casual ARPG... not that there's anything wrong with casuals... or ARPGs... heck, I like D3 too for those times when I don't want to have to think too much.
Then there's another thread here where some are wondering if this site shouldn't just change its name to anygames.com...

SW:TOR for best MMO, it's pretty much the only game I returned to and played for any notable period of time. I would vote for Planetside 2 as I'm playing that right now, but it ain't on the list.

why you hef to be mad its only a game .. be mad because Marvel Heroes is actually a fun game and not a grinding unending fest , there are better mmos that arent in the list , so its normal for MH to win

Heh...Marvel Heroes is the only game in the list of options to vote for that I actually still do play, and even I never really think of it as an MMO.
You aren't wrong...technically it is, using a semi-loose definition of what an MMO is. But most of us old school folks probably never think of it that way.
I voted for it...being it's the only one of the games in the list that I still play...but I'd never have thought to put it ON the list in the first place if I were the one putting the list together.
As a matter of fact, almost the entire group of people hyping MH have less than 10 posts.
I would dare say that 99% of the votes for MH came from people who have never accessed this site before this 'contest' and will never access it again.
It's absolutely ludicrous that a non-MMO won MMO game of the year.
You guys understand that you're not helping your game, correct? No MMO player is going to drop their game to play yours especially after you just trolled their end of the year awards.
It's an absolute joke. Bill, I'm calling you out man. I'm sorry but you should be ashamed.

I have a Black Panther build posted on the forums that you might enjoy, it also has a link in the build to the most common build (sweep the leg) that's used for raiding: https://forums.marvelheroes.com/discussion/119354/a-different-approach-a-slashing-lunge-build/p1
I hope you enjoy, it's a fun game that's far more addictive than first appears.
