You realize that team was caught BUYING positive reviews from sites and media? If they were so confident in their product they should not stoop to such low standards.

I figure so many never believe anything and need proof so i linked one article.I could not stand to support such a dubious company.Let your product speak for itself or at least allow UNBIASED reviews.

FFXIV changed everything you ever thought about failed MMOs - it went from being one of the worst MMOs in history, to having over 2.5 million paying subscribers. FFXIV will go down in history as the only MMO that managed to do that. Instead you all are praising games on their last leg, that will be forgotten in a year's time.

All this is, is a popularity contest. This website has never been a supporter of FFXIV and it never will. It's so sad.

I feel like you are giving a little too much praise to FFXIV, I play it, and I enjoy it, but it did not bring more content (fixing the game is not new content) than any other mmo out there in the last year, actually, it barely brought any content compared to some of the other AA titles. And I do give credit to Square for being able to release the game, but at the same time, we can look at it in another way, I bought the first release of the game, and I felt scammed, so to me, it was Square's responsibility to do something about that. The first version of the game was probably one of the worst releases of an mmorpg ever. The game is ok, but it is not amazing, I play it casually because when I invest a few hours in it, I get bored of the constant empty grind to lvl other classes. To call FFXIV one of the greats, Square still has a long way to go. As I said, I enjoy it, but I feel that you think too highly of the game, you can say that you, personally find it to be the best, but you cannot say that it is better than other games.

Perhaps I am biased towards my favorite MMO atm, but so is everyone else here. As far as what you said about the content updates for FFXIV over the last year, you're wrong in saying that all those updates did was continue to fix the game. Every patch after 2.0 came with new content and those content patches have been coming out every 3-4 months. And over a year later, FFXIV is thriving with tons of new content, and a considerable number of paying subscribers. A future that was once bleak, is now shining brightly.

People are praising Marvel Heroes because it fixed the problems it had at launch and is now in a good place, but the changes made to FFXIV far exceed those made to Marvel Heroes. As I said before in my previous post, what Square Enix did with FFXIV was a game changer - they made it possible for a AAA MMO title to go from complete failure to worldwide success. No MMO in history has ever done that. All Marvel Heroes did was secure its F2P status, while FFXIV went from dead to having over 2.5 mil paying subscribers.

How many MMOs over the last few years have actually managed to do that? None. They have all either gone F2P or B2P.

According to Square Enix, they have roughly 1 million subs for their 3 games combined.  But other than that, I agree, it went from a very bad place to a very respectable place which is unusual these days.  Though I would argue that EvE did it as well, it was just much longer ago.

Yeah, it's because the community are using the Forums to get people to vote on this website. Whereas ESO is continually working to improve the game and preparing for it's largest update yet as well as the console release. So let them be happy with their little reward that think they'll get recognition for whilst ESO begins the next checkpoint of it's journey to success.

Don't get me wrong, MH has been improving decently from what I've seen, but deep down we know ESO has turned it's launch around and is going to thrive throughout 2015. The new 1.6 update on PTS speaks for itself on this. Besides... We won the MMO Face-Off of 2014 which was the main reward over the past year. Let MH care about this award, whilst we care about the ESO game.

    Peace.

You're kidding, right?  I guess you didn't notice that ESO did the EXACT SAME THING you are accusing Marvel Heroes of during the MMO Face-Off.

    Fucking hilarious.

I've played Shadow of Mordor and while I liked it, I'm not sure I would consider it a true RPG.  It has elements but when I compare my experience to other games I consider RPG's, I feel like its missing something in comparison.  Keep in mind I think this is a good game.

Those 2.5m people paying for FF could also vote. They have not voted judging by the poll. If  those numbers are any where near what you say they are, they should maybe put some effort in to support the game they pay for.

I could say the same for any game on this poll.  If every player voted then we'd get some real results. Problem is that no one really cares. Marvel Heroes will win the poll, but it's not data I'd cite.

I am not talking about MH here as I do not consider it a triple A product, I would compare it to an indie action RPG at most, what I am saying is that FFXIV is still not an amazing game, it's a grindfest, and when I say grindfest, it's literaly just a grindfest, I play it because it has an amazing community, as for the content, yes it did get a lot of content, but not more than the other major titles. For example, ESO's content last year was almost enough content to make a second game. I am a huge everquest franchise fan and I play almost every major MMO out there, so I am not here to bring down any game, just saying that you shouldn't say that FFXIV should be higher as it is not of the quality of some other major mmos. But I do give you one point though, Square did bring back the game from certain death, and that's quiet an accomplishment.

I did play Wildstar since, I actually reinstalled it 2 weeks ago and tried it again, after exactly 2 hours of running some  of the supposed new content on my lvl 50 character, I decided to uninstall the game and say goodbye to the waste of 15$ I put to renew the membership. That game is pure garbage and will stay that way, it shouldn't be on the list. And don't let me start with Swtor! lol

I vote your comment as one of the worst on this vote.  Marvel Heroes is actually a great game. Wildstar is one of the worst MMOs in recent history in my opinion. And normally when one addresses people as dumb asses they should at least know proper English. Sense? The word you are looking for a Since. And it's played not playes.

exploiting the voting system? Anyone can sign up and vote. It's a public poll. People from the MH community are coming here to support the game they love playing. How come the other game's communities aren't doing the same? It's actually testimony that a community wants to see their game win enough to take the time to come here and support it. But then again, people who support other games are being envious and toxic about it, which even furthers the sentiment that the MH community isn't bad like that.

I support my mmo of choice with my wallet. That's really the only support they need. Im sure your mmo appreciates your lip service on this poll, but I bet they'd rather have your money.

Just logged into MH's forums and the game itself and now I understand why the community voted this much, it's not because _as they kept bragging about- their love for their community, it's because the devs are giving ingame items for people to go vote hahahaha!

I'm new to the game, just downloaded it today, and I am disappointed by their lack of professionalism.

Lol if this is true, MH should be taken off the list. That's literally buying votes.

This is like the MMO equivalent of saying climate change doesn't exist.

FFXIV support in the last year was BAR NONE to any MMO- hell, any video game in existence. No hyperbole, just cold hard facts.

It is frankly amazing that someone who plays the game would be oblivious enough to state something like this.

Anyway, glad to see Marvel Heroes winning by a massive landslide as it should! /sarcasm

They tossed everyone playing a free hero last time but they never said anyone would get anything for voting, and hell most people didn't even know about it, the vote. The free hero was out of the blue.

They also said specifically that they won't be doing it again, that it was a one-time 'oh we won something! lets celebrate a little' kinda thing.

Saying I will not do it because it's cheating doesn't change the fact that they did give away a free hero! It's just covering their ass! Also if you notice, that post was edited after I posted my comment.
