Ah relax. Y'all should come laugh with us. P101 community did the same thing you're doing and they had the common sense to keep it in perspective. It was fine. MH community should probably calm down a little bit and enjoy the limelight. We all know where mh will be a week from now. Sorry if you took anything I wrote too seriously, let's keep it lighthearted.
Week from now? Hmm, let´s see. New hero, new costumes, rework of old hero,  complet rework of one of the game mods, rework of system for one of the items. Different event and plenty of other things I don´t remember right now. In next few weeks come achievements, new raid, rework of team-up system, plenty of new heroes with rework of old heroes, new events and much more things.

Our game is based on something that has 75-year history and is doing it right. And I would say that its safe to assume that our game will be here in few years and will be better then ever. I know it isn´t perfect game, there is no such thing. but no other game on that list has at least half as great community as we have.

Sorry. I think you misunderstood me. I meant that MH will go back to being mostly obscure on this site. In sure your game will go on and have a full life

You are right. Well, MH has, thanks to a bad start, still mediocre reputation and most people and sites don´t even update their reviews about the game. Old reviews like from TotalBuscuit on youtube are so far from current game that its wonder anyone still bases their opinion on them, without actually trying the game.

So basically, when this is over, no one outside the player base gives a damn about our game. But I am glad, because I don´t want all those elitists from wow and lol and other games to come and destroy our community.

Sadly the jealousy and hate is strong in this site. If you dont like the game thats fine, there's no need to lie and start false rumors like that.

Marvel Heroes never ever gave us free items to go vote. In fact, one of the devs posted that we're NOT getting anything for voting.

It is our choice to go vote. The game you love is not the game i love, our opinions are different but unlike a child, i wont go around and spread fake/false rumors simply out of jealous and hate.

We get a daily log in bonus for simply playing the game every day, Every time you log in, you get a free item.. Nothing out of the ordinary, just simple things that you can get in game for free just by playing the game.

You elitist are what makes such sites as this extremely toxic and is why a lot of voters simply keep out of this nonsense..

We're too busy playing the game instead of lurking on website forums.

It's really sad when a developer has to request the aid of its playerbase so they can cling on any sort of award they can actually win. It's so sad that people vote so they can get a free boost if they win. Yeah, it's their community begging for crumbs. It's embarrassing, just look at their awards.

Why would you need to take a screenshot?... that was already explained and discussed in this thread, next time take the time to read, please.

Everyone knows they gave a reward, so your post doesn't bring anything new to the discussion, they gave the reward AFTER the poll finished, and no one knew they were getting something for voting.

And that guy is talking about this poll now, and the devs already stated they're not giving anything for voting.

  • Adjuvant1Adjuvant1 Member RarePosts: 2,100

Man, sometimes it's hard to tell if people are being spinsters or if they really don't get it. MH2015 thanked the community for the showing in most improved after the fact and gave a gift. You can go back and compare dates on the forum postings, in the vote here and on their site about the free hero. Nothing's been altered, there's no conspiracy.

You know this is all political. ESO fans made it this way taking it to their forums before anyone else. These are the people who created this issue. Then, TSW and MH2015 fans got involved on their respective sites, ESO still won best of something (best new mmo?) in that multi-stage, first set of polls.

Then there were more polls. MH rewarded fans with a new hero. ESO rewarded fans by taking their game B2P. Guess who's still "worked up" to get results and guess who stopped voting, almost altogether? See how it's political? Now people are mad. The fans did this, the playerbase, not the devs.

So it is true, the devs did give the item AFTER they won the first poll and before this poll, so it was not a bribe, I admit that I made a mistake there, but if you read the MH forum post in which people are encouraging others to go vote, and it is still on the forum, you just need to go and read it, people actually are saying that they will come vote again in hopes of getting another item. A dev responds to that post, after a bunch of comments that they will not be giving an item this time, but when he posted that comment, MH had already jumped from 1% to 50% and after his comment, it stayed at 50%. So that means that MH players voted because they thought they would get another item not because it's a better game. Problem solved, case closed, we can move on now! And guys, everything I said is verifiable if you check the comments and the times and dates on that post.
  • Adjuvant1Adjuvant1 Member RarePosts: 2,100
But when they gave that reward, no one (except maybe Murphy, here) knew there would be more polls. The latest even become to seem redundant, best new, best of 2014... why not best new mob style, best new boss, best new raid encounter? Oh, shit, I'm giving him ideas. And still that's not addressing the issue of the abysmal turnout of ESO over the last polls. Heck, man, ESO people may have been voting for MH2015 in spite, those may not even all be MH2015 fan votes.

So you're saying: a few comments = the whole community.

That's a pretty flawed logic, you're choosing to ignore the other posts about the game deserving to win, in that same thread:

"Winning this contest will be some kind of tribute to community&devs. No rewards needed, just keep it going ;3"

"I don't always go through the trouble of signing up for a random website to cast a vote in favor of something. But when I do... It's Marvel Heroes. Good luck, team! You guys deserve all the credit in the world for the job you're doing."

"the devs here know and love the community and have cultured a symbiosis with most of us veteran players to the point where we all feel like we are part of the game, rather than just playing a game."

"I registered to the site and voted as well. It's funny to read all the people so surprised that MH is currently in the lead.

It's extremely hard not to vote for a game/company that has a development team so dedicated and open to its community of like-mind gamers to constantly evolve the game into something better. It blows my mind to think of what the game was like back in beta to what it is now."

    etc, etc.

It's funny how you're always trying to create an excuse as to why the MH community is voting for MH, you just don't want to admit that they just love their game and the devs, even after all the posts by actual MH players here explaining why they like the game and why they think it deserves to win.

Well, I think we should give him a break because he admitted the factual aspect of his argument was wrong. Now it's delving into opinions and motivations, and that's going to become an unresolvable tennis match.

Golarum, good job relenting the way you did, but that said, you like, she likes, he likes, we like, you can't quantitatively say, and in the end, in entertainment at least, that's going to make "the better game".

edit: I say "you like", as in "you saying, 'you like', as opposed to you saying "I like". Also, "...that's going to make "the better game"... look at WoW, made to be liked, so it's liked, not because it's "good empirically because it's good "novel" or good at the point of inception", more like a stripper with augmented parts.

Just because Doomsaw said that there wouldn't be a gift afterwards doesn't mean that that was the only reason people came here to vote. The %'s have been fluctuating a few tenths between ESO and Marvel Heroes, thus proving that people are still voting for it. Another (albeit less likely) reason is that people see that it's in such a big lead already that they don't think voting is worth the time, that they've got it in the bag already (which they kinda do  :)  )  The only way that voting here affects the game at all is a dev, AgentParks, has agreed to eat a hot dog for every % we win by, so if anything, we might lose a dev for a while while he recovers from what we'll be putting him through (though he's apparently started training)

Something else worth mentioning before people blow it way out of proportion. It was recently posted on the MH forum that for the next week, the EXP%/Item Find % would be doubled. THAT IS IN NO WAY COMPENSATION FOR PEOPLE VOTING HERE, NOTHING TO DO WITH IT AT ALL. The reason that they decided to do that is because, originally, The plan was to have this weeks patch be a big one with a new hero (Winter Soldier) a major QoL to Captain America, tuning changes to X-23, and an overhaul/expansion on a set of items (insignias). This major patch was delayed a week in order to fine tune the new items and the heroes so that the players would be happy with them. This was determined based on the feedback of people on their Test Server, another indicator that the devs at Gazillion listen to the feedback of the players, and will change things to make sure that the most people have fun.

I don't really think ESO should bother trying to win since it ALREADY WON this very category.

I ain't gonna post it on the reddit or anything, that's for sure.

Feels like MMORPG didn't like the results of the first time they asked people to vote for the best MMO of 2014 and now they are trying to get different results?

Honestly, didn't even know Marvel Heros was a thing.

Well then, If you ever liked ARPGs like Diablo, and like Marvel, some try it out. It's run by the same buy who made the 1st 2 Diablo's, David Brevik (there's even a cow level). There is a reason that MMORPG re-reviewed the game and bumped it up from a 5.6 to an 8.2.

OH, and an FYI to the ESO fanboys out there talking shit about something they haven't played, 8.2>7.9

I'm pretty sure when someone says 'vote now and if we win we get a punisher review next month' that's a joke... since punisher is getting a review next month... even if a turnip won this vote.

Almost every post in there was sarcasm and fun, but it might just be that people that don't play the game or visit the forum often, can tell that.

Yeah, it's because the community are using the Forums to get people to vote on this website. Whereas ESO is continually working to improve the game and preparing for it's largest update yet as well as the console release. So let them be happy with their little reward that think they'll get recognition for whilst ESO begins the next checkpoint of it's journey to success.

Don't get me wrong, MH has been improving decently from what I've seen, but deep down we know ESO has turned it's launch around and is going to thrive throughout 2015. The new 1.6 update on PTS speaks for itself on this. Besides... We won the MMO Face-Off of 2014 which was the main reward over the past year. Let MH care about this award, whilst we care about the ESO game.

    Peace.

LMAO!  You act like the ESO community has never did this on your forums before.

How bout win the award and care about the game :) Both are possible, just in case you weren't aware of it lol.

Not at all, not finding any excuse, I'm just saying it as it is. I keep repeating myself, I have not played MH, actually I downloaded it a few days ago, played for an hour or so, but that's not enough to judge a game and it's community, I am just stating the facts. Also, between you and I, I don't think this poll had thousands of votes, so yeah a few people that posted on the forums did make a difference, but I do agree with you that these people do not reflect the whole MH community, I am just trying to explain how that sudden jump happened. Also, I do not care who won, the 300 people who vote on this poll and the dozens before it don't really reflect the opinion of the millions of players who play mmorpgs.

Also, "...that's going to make "the better game"... look at WoW, made to be liked, so it's liked, not because it's "good empirically because it's good "novel" or good at the point of inception", more like a stripper with augmented parts.

At last someone who understands where I'm going with this, thank you kind soul! hehehe!! I am the first to admit when I make a mistake! Honestly, I do not care about the result anymore, I will go try MH and see what it's all about, I'm a little skeptic as I feel that it's just a mindless action game (personal opinion based on gameplay videos I saw), but I will give it a try for a few hours to see if it got more depth as you progress.
