For example:
- 31 Jan Pantheon Store closed
- 25 Jan Announce/Released The Keeper's Vault
- 23 Jan Game Tenets
- 23 Jan Dev Round Table Update (with a bullet point list I put together for everyone to read)
That's 4 pretty big updates and all within the last few weeks, the last update was 2 weeks ago and a week before that the Dev Round Table which gave a big update on a ton of topics for over 1 hour and 30 mins!
The team is flat out with building the game and working hard towards our next update but if you follow us over at the Pantheon development site, you will see whenever an update is announced.
I should really get on the ball, but if you haven't heard the round table from last month, you missed out. That discussion got me so fired up I can hardly resist mentioning Pantheon in every thread. It was referenced somewhere else otherwise I'd have created a new thread for it.
I always liked Brad but i do not believe he has the overall ability to make a great game,i do believe he does with a solid team.
IMO there was a lot wrong or ideas that i just did not like and i saw those same ideas carried through to VG and EQ2,so they never learned a thing.
IN the very first question asked "How are they going to handle bugs and bug reporting".Well does not sound like a lot of thought was put into this, just a "we did a year beta in EQ,so therefore that works".Umm no it doesn't and i have not seen ANY developer do BETA testing PROPERLY.
What Beta have become is nothing more than FREE game time and that is how 99% of the players deem it.Gamer's are NOT going to break a leg trying to figure out HOW to report a bug/problem,so the DEVELOPER must do it for them.
There should be automatic log reporting on crashes. There should be a button ,in PLAIN sight for every player to push with a popup menu to report problems. Then you need to LIMIT the players to an amount the team can handle the massive amount of reporting and stay on top of it.
You know what REALLY happens? They have categories >>>VERY important>important>to not so important. That is why tons of bugs end up in games on release.
You also need to create a WELL THOUGHT out economy design and be right on top of RMT to keep them from ruining it and the game for everyone else.
SOE games over the years have been notorious for being the worst bug riddled games on the planet,so i would never copy anything SOE has done in the past.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Actual GAME updates.
Lore is not part of the game?
An entire Website/Vault dedicated to the game Lore, Stories, Classes, Races is not a game update? You can visit the site and read visual evidence of lore and other information that is game related!
1 hour and 30 mins discussing game mechanics, game features and answering specific questions from our members/supporters on game related topics, is not game updates?
They were not just words but also voices, the developers took great interest in answering the communities questions and they were very well received.
Game Tenets are what the game will include, is it not considered a game update officially announcing them?
Closing the Store which sold items for in-game use was not a game update, even though it affected the game?
If you are talking about screenshots/videos (visual updates)? If so, then you need to be more specific and say that when posting mate, as an update can account for almost anything, so saying there has been no updates for 2 months, when there clearly has, as I have shown you multiple examples of above, is misleading at best.
I appreciate your feedback though and I will let you get back to picking your nose until I can release a more visual update like a screenshot or a video for you

Other than the testing process, not sure what you're referring to. As someone who played EQ beta and started on day 1 of launch, I can say there was a pretty stark contrast between it and most other games. While I'm sure it wasn't perfect, I don't really recall any big issues that kept me from playing it at any time other than normal down times.
EQ2 wasn't a Brad McQuaid game.
Vanguard was however, and no amount of beta testing would have fixed it. They launched it too early due to money issues. Thats been hashed and rehashed a thousand times. They messed up; one can only hope the Pantheon team doesn't make that mistake. If there was even 1 alternative for a hardcore mmoRPG out there other than Pantheon, I'd tell people they should go there if they can't get over the past. Since there is no alternative (no, theres not) I recommend people try to get over past mistakes and support the game for the genre's sake. Alternatively they can just ignore the title and move on.

Pretty stupid post honestly, last month was more active for Pantheon then most. The fact you have a Landmark pic in your signature makes you even more lolworthy.
As information to generate a little hype before tomorrow and for those seeking updates - the wait is almost over. Here is a quote from Joppa on the official Pantheonrotf.com site.

Dev Journal 2.18.15
Hey everyone!
A quick journal to update you on some important things coming soon:
(1) We are preparing to publish an update this Friday the 20th. The update will include a short gameplay video, some new screenshots and another 'State of the Game' installment to shed some light on our current development focus, why you've not seen the game for a while and what to expect in the near future.
(2) John Diasparra (Monty) and I did an interview with WASD Radio today discussing our new world building process, the fruit of which you will see in Friday's update. The interview should be posted next Friday, the 27th.
(3) We will be having our 2nd Developer Round Table next week!
(4) We are in the process of finalizing the Player Race descriptions for all nine races and will be publishing them on the Vault soon. You can also expect to see the first phase of our Class Design & Descriptions by the end of this month, also on the Vault.
There's a lot to look forward to in the next few weeks - onward!

Thanks for the update Raidan, I've definitely been waiting for a game play video update as well. I really need to get myself registered on the Pantheon forums...

Actually that Round table did deserve its own thread and you should post it. Looking forward to the next installment!

I never thought the Pantheon team would get this far honestly. It already looks like a game someone might consider investing in.
I also like how Brad seems to be taking a back seat in the management department, at least from a PR perspective. Here's for hoping all these hardworking volunteers don't get screwed in the end just like the old team.
Originally posted by SlyLoK New video has some very nice graphical improvement. Though that elven forest looks like it runs very badly judging by how much hitching was going on.
SlyLoK,
The hitching in the Elven Forest was explained by Kilsin in a thread on the official Pantheonrotf site when asked what computer specs he was using - I'll quote it below:
"Kilsin said:
It's tough to give min specs this early mate, plus we all run the internal builds on different PCs, personally I have a pretty high end gaming PC (i7 3970 6 core Extreme @ 4.2, 32GB RAM, 840 Pro 256 SSD, Win 7 Ultimate, GTX 690), but I know our machines vary a lot so we can't really give an accurate example of a min spec PC but I can tell you that I run the internal client at 120+ FPS and smooth as silk, except in a couple of the very new zone which have not been optimised properly yet, as you can see in the video with the Forest zone (which is one of my favorite zones too btw!) I get slight hitching there but again, it is way too early to worry about that and that zone hasn;t been fully optimised or performance tested, so when that happens, you will see a big difference.
The guys do a performance pass at the end of every month usually, so once that is done, everything seriously runs so smooth, I was actually quite surprised when I first logged in on how well it runs, I was expecting a big performance hit but it never happened. I can run around using Dev hacks to explore every zone and rarely drop below 80 FPS "
Another noteworthy quote from that same thread is by Brad regarding Pantheon's computer and performance requirements:
"Aradune said:
Actually, we are being *very* careful in this regard. You will *not* need the latest and greatest machine to run Pantheon. We are being very mindful of performance and stop every month and optimize. One of the biggest mistakes with VG was getting all excited about the latest tech and then pushing it into the game. When unfortunate events forced us to release 6 months early, most people, even on decent gaming machines, couldn't play the game and players left, most of them before even hitting level 2 or 3. We cannot and will not make that mistake again. Blizzard was brilliant with WoW and made sure average PCs could run the game. We are doing the same with Pantheon. In fact, the recent visual enhancements and tech we have just now revealed have *not* lowered the framerate at all. Same with the advances coming when we switch to Unity 5 -- we are not going to let performance get in the way of you enjoying Pantheon. No, you won't be able to use some ancient laptop you re-discover in your closet, but, likewise, you will *not* need to go spend a ton of money and have to have the fastest machine, CPU, GPU, etc.
I don't mind making new mistakes -- we're very adventurous and always trying out this or that. But making an old mistake again, releasing an unoptimized game that even the fastest game rigs choke on, is *not* an option for us. We're very sensitive about this, I hope you can tell
